  • To The Argyle
The Argyle is an amazing bar and lounge. The interiors, decor and lounge areas are one of a kind and draws in a classy and trendy crowd. This is a very good place to meet up with friends. Their menu offers a range of light meals, seafood, dishes to share. There is plenty of room for everyone, with a courtyard and five other lounge- dining areas.

I love the Argyle and its atmosphere, the DJ box and bathrooms, the only bad point would be how expensive drinks are, and sometimes it is difficult (especially for guys or people underdressed) to get in.

Love the Argyle! Great food, great drinks and great huge, open venue. Oh and love the late night outdoor sausage sizzle.

Nice design set in the colonial Argyle Street of The Rocks - I do love the cobble stone walkways, however it gets extremely crowded mainly with pretentious suits on firday and saturday nights. Great for after work drinks but pricey for food and drinks but normal for the location.

Nice place, but terribly crowded on Saturday nights and drinks are quite expensive.

Nice ambience, trendy, large venue with funky people.
Lots of different areas to mingle. Easy to get into before 6:30pm... but as time progresses, the music gets progressively louder... and the chances of you being rejected at the door to even gain entry (or in my case re-enter) gets progressively lower...
Loved the ambience but there is a lack of food choices!

Any place that has an ATM right next to the bar is giving fair warning about what drinks are going to cost. It definitely has an element of cool and is huge. If you like loud trendy bars full of loud trendy people then this place is for you

Perfect post work drinks venue, lots of good-looking people without too much pretension - quite a surprise since it's located in the rocks. Drinks are a little exy but that's normal for the area. the large stable-like entrance is great and gives one a feeling of walking into a classic setting.

My favourite place in Sydney by far.

The atmosphere is by far better than any other establishment that Sydney has to offer.

Sydney is full of pretentious bars and clubs that act as if they are in New York or Tokyo. However, The Argyle is nice and relaxed, and attracts a much calmer and mature (not mature as in 'old') crowd.
It is very stylish yet still comfortable.

Everyone should visit at least once

wow i was really impressed. Attended last friday night and the atmosphere is excellent. Although you do need to dress up, i was totally ready for it....the people are great, the outdoor area is nice and spacious, as well as the basement area. Would have to say this is in my top 5 sydney locations....can't wait to go back..very impressed.

This place Rocks...get it. Its awesome. Sydney needs more venues like this. Classy, diverse with big comfy booths inside, Glass floored DJ booth above the entrance with another areas upstairs, the courtyard with the BIG lamps. Great for afternoon boozing or Friday after work or even for the big Satruday night. The booze is on the pricey side but no different to any of the other top notch venues around Sydney. Only criticism is it can be a bit of a queue at the bar, more bar or more staff might be the answer.

It’s difficult to decide on The Argyle’s best feature. Is it the Manhattan-esque cool of the setting, a cavernous renovated wool store? Is it the cute courtyard, which is packed with punters enjoying the DJs and $5 drink specials each Sunday? Perhaps it’sthe two-for-one steaks on Tuesdays? Maybe it’s getting down and funky to disco classics every Friday night? Oh, who knows. All we know is, we like it.

The Argyle is still the funkiest place in The Rocks, turning up its volume with ‘70s tunes. New at the Perch Bar is the sashimi and sushi menu including the tiny and delish tuna sashimi ice cream cone with soy dipping sauce and a scampi salad in a shot glass. Heavy-duty share plates like spicy chicken wings and potato wedges are good for the guys. Gotta love the great courtyard and cobblestones.
