The Convent Bakery in Abbotsford, just 4ks from Melbourne, is open 7 days a week from 8am to 5pm.
The bakery serves traditional wood fired bread, sandiwches, pastries and a breakfast menu.Organic tea, coffee and juices are also availabe.
In keeping with the historic surroundings, the bread is baked in wood fired ovens that date back to 1901.
There is a large outdoor seating area, suitable for groups and families.

Arrived for breakfast on Sunday, 3rd April before the rush. We were slightly disappointed by the service as we kept having to re-direct the staff to the tables where the orders originated. The meals we had were average and unfortunately wouldn't draw me back. On the positive side, the Bakery is set in beautiful surroundings that are worth wandering through.

The ambience of this cafe, set among the lovely gardens of the Abbotsford Convent, is what sets this eatery above the rest. Regular weekend markets, live music performances, entertainment for the kids ensure there is always something exciting to see.
The food is great - a wide selection of choices from all day breakfast and wood-fired pizzas on the weekend to a selection of standard bakery items inside.
Can be difficult to get a table on the weekend but that's only because it's so good!
We will be back again and again and again.

i was there on the weekend for breakfast and found it to be very good, excelent coffee and friendly service, i took the kids down to the farm which is next door and when i returned i found a trio entertaining kids with circus activities which was very handy so i could get another cup of coffee, there is also a night market with music,food and entertaining starting this friday which is on every friday from 6pm,may have have to come for another visit.
