The food was good, although overpriced in my opinion. The service was very ordinary. When it was time to pay, I was told that their eftpos machine was broken. I suggested that, as I dont have enough cash, they could take my credit card details and process when their machine was running again. This suggestion was met with rudeness. When I insisted, they ran my credit card through their machines, and lo and behold, it was working. I then quietly said that although the food had been good, we were disappointed with the service. Someone then flew out hurling abuse, with repeated use of the "f" word. Every time we tried to speak reasonably to them, they told us to "f.. off" and to get out. They even got out a mobile phone and starting taking photos of us in a very threatening manner. It ended with one of their staff physically pushing us out the door. We were flabbergasted. It Is the sort of experience that you read about in the newspaper that ends in violence. This could have easily happened had we not kept our calm. If you are visiting Coffs Harbour, or indeed are a local like myself, this is one restaurant to cross off your list FOREVER
The food was very good, but expensive, equivalent to high end Thai restaurants in Sydney. Went to pay the bill at the end and noticed that $2 had been tacked on to the bill. I asked what that was for and was told it was for "eftpos fee" (I used my credit card to pay). This was charged with no prior notice or disclosure that such a fee would be attracted if paying by card (eftpos/credit). I said that was a bit rough as I thought that came under tax deductable business fees. I was informed me they pay $400 per month for card transactions that they needed to recoup. I again indicated that most other business' dont charge patrons for using their cards and didn't feel it promoted good customer relations. I said that I wouldn't return and they indicated that was a good thing as no one else had complained of the fee. I can't see how charging each patron who wishes to pay via card a $2 fee doesn't equate to a profit for the business. As indicated the food was good but the aggressive and rude interaction when questioning a fee (which was not disclosed) would not be enough to draw me to recommend this restaurant to anyone. I would suggest that any patron choose carefully where they will use their hard earned money and hopefully its where that money and patronage is appreciated and rewarded, NOT at this establishment. It gets rave reviews but the attitude does not live up to the hype and I would suggest going somewhere where both good food and good service are offered simultaneously.
if you continue with your nasty & viscious slander, i will have no option to take legal action against you.
you were told by fair trading that any additional charges for eftpos or credit cards is and was clearly published on the very front page of our menu.
you represented yourself as a solicitor, so you know the ramifications of slander & defamation.
i will have no hesitation in reporting you to the law society.
i should make it quite clear that you were rude and aggressive.
