Reviews of The Edge Restaurant
In brief: I'm a coeliac. Husband ordered 2 lots of Egg Benedict, one standard, one gluten free. One came first and I asked if it was GF and was assured it was. I ate it, nice round bun and good!
Half hour later the other order came, stone cold and the bread looked like typical GF. I asked another wait staff if it was the GF bread and said it was.
Husband asked to see management. Management declined and from a distance we saw was smirking! Sent wait staff back to tell us someone from the kitchen would see us. We waited a while but gave up and left.
I visited this restaurant for the second time for lunch when some friends came to visit. There is indoor and outdoor seating. You will definitely want to sit outdoors for the beautiful view to the Sunshine Coast. The restaurant is at the top of the hill at Montville. On busy days you may have trouble finding a parking space, but these are at no cost. Toilets are available, but you need to ask staff for the key.
Staff were friendly and prompt. Like most cafes on the coast water is self service.
We ordered bread and trio of dips and garlic bread. I preferred the bread and dips, as the garlic bread is something you would normally cook at home. The desserts are available in the cabinet. The apple crumble cake wasnt bad. The usual range of drinks are available: tea, coffee, milkshakes, soft drinks and juice.
Lunch meals are priced around the $20 mark. I ordered a chicken pie with salad and chips. I would recommend specifying that the salads come with a creamy dressing or just have it on the side, as for me it was too rich to eat after a few mouthfuls. The pie was nice, but would love more pastry. The chips were good.
