They started off very casually when they first opened. The atmosphere was great! Then they started getting popular, and started knocking back almost everyone that wasn't in a suit. Then they got too strict and had to relax it a bit. The decor is great. I like the rooftop bar, a lot of money has been spent into making this place look great. The pricing is a little more then average, but I guess it's worth it for the decor. -

One of my favourite places in Melbourne!
Great location right in the middle of Lonsdale St- the place its self is gorgeous- really funky with great atmosphere. The food was amazing! and very reasonably priced.
The roof top bar was very kool- very New York!

I just can't find fault with Emerald Peacock. This is a very chic establishment with an extensive bar and a great vibe.
The upstairs partially covered area is amazing with it's impending city skyscrapers and plenty of seating. A bar up here and a DJ too. Great for a sunny afternoon sipping cocktails and having a meet up with friends, food available from a small bar menu.
The downstairs area is very nice, very modern with wooden panels that separate sections off, booths that surround the dance floor and provide a nice place to sit and chat amongst yourselves, another bar and at night a DJ too, hidden alcoves and pretty unique toilets. The VIP lounge sits off to the right of the bar, it's cosy and dark, the way it should be. There's food available down stairs too from the bar menu and it's very yummy.
They have a spicy sangria which must be tried to be believed. Its really good.
The event that was held here recently had a very large group of people and we were all catered too very well. The bar staff seemed to handled the busy times really well and they were very friendly and approachable.
Id recommend you stop by this place to check out the upstairs area after work one day during summer. Youll be relaxed in minutes. -

This would have to be one of my favourite bars in Melbourne. Very classy (without being pretentious), they serve a range of cocktails and bar drinks - a perfect way of catching up with friends after work. The rooftop is perfect for your friends who smoke, and just to catch some fresh air. Definitely one of my favourite joints in Melbourne.

If you’re looking for a more modern take on a traditional high tea (sans scones, blue-rinsed ladies and over-brewed tea), grab a couple of friends and head to The Emerald Peacock. More Sex and the City than Pride and Prejudice, this high tea is held between 2-5pm every Saturday on the bar’s scenic rooftop, or in its cosy lounge if the Melbourne weather is inclement. The Chandon Girls’ Picnic serves tea according to the $45 per head set menu which includes fresh bread rolls stuffed with delicious ingredients, light as a feather butterfly cakes and melt in your mouth yoyo’s and, of course, a glass of Chandon NV Brut bubbles.
