The Flying Scotsman, I have been going here for years!! its a standard dingy dark pub with a few locals hanging around the bar. The food is good and the Sunday $10 pizza is a good Sunday afternoon place to hang out with friend over some drinks and good pizza, although it is always very busy.

I also notice that some of the bar staff can be quite rude at times, and never have fresh lime.... I tend to think all bars/clubs should have fresh lime available as we are usually paying a fortune for a standard drink, I want to be able to enjoy it!

The upstairs part is quite a contrast from the main pub and I don't quite get it. Although they do serve nice cocktails and have a good view of the city.

For a few years now it has been almost guaranteed that sometime on a Friday afternoon I will receive a text bearing just one word, "Scotto?".

Or there will be a call-to-arms group email doing the rounds, "Folks, who's up for the Scotto?". Less frequently, I will get a call on a Sunday afternoon about a pizza and pint catch-up at this popular Mt Lawley watering hole. Yet despite the many, many hours I've dedicated to the Scotto, it still feels weird being there on a Monday. Arriving early, I sauntered in to find my favourite local almost empty. After grabbing a menu, I chose a table outside knowing that my date wouldn’t be coming alone. Dog Day Afternoon A few moments later my two hairy-faced dining partners arrived. The smaller of the two came bounding towards me with tail wagging. The other trailed behind, his sunnies preventing me from seeing whether or not he was quite as happy to see me. He could wait for his hello, I thought, as I bent down to cuddle my three-month-old pup. The alfresco area out the front of the Scotto may be restricted by the Town of Vincent’s ridiculous liquor licensing laws, but one great thin...
