A great spot to catch up with friends on a warm night or right after work. The bar staff are quite friendly, told them what 'sort' of wine I felt like and didn't like and they pretty much matched to my tastebuds desire, rather clever I thought.
The bouncers become a bit over the top once it gets dark, you could hear them left, right and centre asking those with thongs on to leave - so tip both men and women alike, wear the appropriate shoes if you think there is even a small chance you are going to stay out past your bedtime.

I like the Garden on a Sunday morning in spring or early summer. It's nice to be outside and enjoy a cold drink and it's a great location and venue. However, the food is not that great - or the quality you would expect for the price.
Also drinks are pretty overpriced - and I'm not referring to alcohol - juice/coffee etc.
Great place. But not so good for food, drinks or pricing.

We went there last week. We had had a few drinks but were by no means rowdy and had friends with us who were driving. The bar staff were rude and picked on one of our friends saying she was intoxicated, when she was clearly not. We had ordered food and more friends complained to the manager, as the staff were being rude and had attitude. The manager was unhelpful but let us eat our food at least. The drinks are overpriced. So many better places to drink in perth and management need to learn customer service. Staff are inexperienced and rude.

The food was nice, drinks are a bit pricey but still good, but the atmosphere and set-up is what makes this place great. Will return again and again.

When you walk into the Garden you feel your not in Lederville anymore, Having say that once you walk to the bar you are servied by a arrogent staff that need to learn the meaning of service.... Once you have ordered your drink you can find seating around the place or stand, which is when you can look back around you and find nice and pleasent ppl around you, Then you see staff dressed like they where at a 10 yrs old B'day, one of the most untidy unforms i have ever seen. A bit of warning if you do wanna experience the Garden, do not go there if you have a bad day, or had a fight with your GF, cause this place demands manners!!! The Bar staff demand it... Without it you will get KICKED OUT!!! All in all, i wouldnt recommend this place to anyone, there are many other place you can go and feel welcome!

Finally a place in Leederville to have a relaxed drink on a lazy Sunday! A great little local with the occasional live background music. This place is always full so be prepared to stand. If you're lucky, you might get a spot on the deck upstairs and really make the most of the sun. There's a really good mix of people here: young and old, yuppy and tradie, families and friends. The place goes for an industrial feel which provides an interesting and modern contrast to the "garden" aspect. My favourite touch is the beer bottle caps mortared into the bar. The Garden's biggest downfall is the price. A pint for single digits? You won't find one of those here. The one drink that does seem good value and blends into the Garden theme perfectly is a jug of Pimms. This will get you about 6 drinks to share with friends and comes with a refreshing garnish of cucumber, mint and orange. The Garden definitely suits the Leederville vibe and is worth a visit.

THERE is barely enough room here to cope with the rave that The Garden warrants, so prepare for some grudging restraint.

The Garden is terrific. It’s cheerful. It has a buzz. It has staff without attitude. It has a great mix of punters. They’re wheeling their babies under long communal timber tables, they’re picnicking with deli items on the grassed area outside. They’re smiling, laughing and enjoying eating out together. There’s a very experienced team of Perth businessmen behind this venture, which occupies a central spot in the quality enclave of Leederville um, that is apart from its neighbour, The Leederville Hotel. The Garden used to be the old band room of the pub and the area was recently redeveloped to create a tavern cum eatery that provides the unpretentious, relaxed style of dining that we all love but with a curious, unpredictable twist, which elevates it from the boring.

Strolling into any renovated venue can be daunting. Will a dash of pretension be part of the upgrade? Not here. Staff in Steve Irwin safari shirts welcomed us into the classy, city-chic-meets-outback-charm restaurant, but mood lighting and padded stools reminded us that we weren’t really out bush.

My buddy and I were pleased to see share plates that equated to fairly wallet-friendly deals. And you can’t expect amazing things from $6 glasses of wine, but my mate’s full-bodied red was certainly worth a good swill around the palate. The rillette entree was served in a jam jar – cute – along with another teeny jar of olive oil and balsamic with slices of lightly toasted baguette. The pork was succulent without being too fatty and the olive oil was fresh and grassy. We’d barely dug down to the halfway mark on our jar of rillette when the main course arrived.
