The HIT Centre offers the opportunity, environment and instruction to allow you to improve your health and fitness to a level that is probably difficult to attain elsewhere. This is not done through the use of any fad, the newest popular technique or tool but rather by SHEER QUALITY OF INSTRUCTION combined with an amazing group feel that each member partakes in when realising the opportunity that exists here. The Head Coach is one of the most committed and skilful instructors you can imagine who seems to be interested solely in the benefits that his members gain. You will be able to apply the energy, strength and everything else which comes with improved health from an hour of hard work into the other 23 hours of your day.

What a find! Tucked away behind Chapel St sits another world. A world where "can't do" turns into "what was I worried about" - a world where you can push yourself and feel fantastic for doing so. You have only to listen to the people who use this facility to know that this is a gym worth giving a go. Ask, and you'll hear tales of people losing weight while gaining strength, taking off centimetres while taking on new challenges and seeing their lives improve exponentially. Personally I no longer am tired at work, I sleep a thousand times better, I am eating healthier and more than I used to, I bounce out of bed at 5:30 each morning and am so happy and confident with my body and love the reactions I'm getting.

It's not your average gym - racks of dumbells are replaced by wrought iron pull-up bars; stair-masters are replaced by rowing machines; and you won't fine any mirrors here - the only thing looking back at you is an equally dedicated HIT trainee who is encouraging you to keep up the hard work! There is no hiding from the hard work, but when you feel as good as you do, why would you want to! From simple, bodyweight movements, to Olympic weightlifting manoeuvres, the combination of workouts is forever changing keeping everyone in the class guessing what's next. It adds excitement to each day when you don't know what you're going to be doing when you head to the gym.

Head Trainer, Scott Comber is an incredible mentor. He pushes everyone to realise their potential. There is no ideal demographic for Scott's classes for they are tailored and scaled to suit anyone. There's a definite belief that solid technique is the key to fast improvement and hard work, dedication and practice is surely the way to improve your fitness and wellbeing. His dietary advice has also been so helpful - I am loving seeing my body develop.

Give this place a shot and it will give you a shot at pushing your personal boundaries and relishing the results!

Are you someone who always struggles finding a good way to work out and stay healthy? Are you dreaming about this one gym that combines all the good bits and pieces you found in all the gym you've been to? I have found mine, and it's the Hit Centre in South Yarra. Trainer Comber makes his gym the friendliest place to work out. He is always keen to get you going and pushing hard (harder than you thought you could). In a few weeks only, you feel so much better, healthier and stonger, and learn to love to be in the "pain cave" !!! Keep up the good work Scott =)

I can't help but become a little evangelical about this gym. Within a month I've seen such a difference, coming from a weedy pathetic physique to doing things I'd thought were reserved for gym junkies and body building fanatics. The brilliance of Scott's 'gym' is that it's a training centre. Every time you go you have his personal attention to improve your form, core strength, raw power and athletic fitness. Most importantly you have the motivation of training alongside peers of varying fitness and strength levels - he tailors it exactly to your needs. His workouts are fun, will have you clean and jerking bar bells, flipping tyres, or even lifting atlas stones and kegs if you're you're a bit of a tank. 5 stars!

As a pretty fit person I was up for a challenge but skeptical as to what benefit this type of training would bring. I like the small group atmosphere, feels like personal training but for a lot less cash and more fun. Because Scott is always on your back you are forced to put everything into to workouts which means you get more out of them than if you are at the gym by yourself. Its only been a couple of months but so far the results have been great and I will be continuing with it.

Think of the laziest salad dodger you know. That was pretty much me before I began working with Scott, the trainer at the HIT centre. This gym is different to any other I have used. Why? Because it's fun. The small group training sessions are focused and effective, with support and motivation from Scott and the other trainees. Regardless of your age, skill or fitness, you will work hard and make progress towards your fitness and weight loss goals. As a middle aged woman who has discovered an unsuspected inner mongrel, I am doing things I simply didn't think I was capable of. (Tyre flipping, anyone?) If you don't like exercise, you will now. If you do like exercise, you will love it. Give it a go!
