I did nothing to provoke the management and very polite during my stay there yet the management was extremely rude when I did not want to purchase a moisturising product, walking behind the back before saying loudly 'fine have dry hair then!'. I was shocked and very sad by that comment. I have product at home.
The management kept disagreeing with what I wanted. I was very surprised by this. And also refused to blowdry my fringe saying it was 'fine' even though it was curly and did not match the rest of my hair. You dont pay $90 to not have the fringe done. The other staff was the only one who listened to my request and did the best.

As I paid I said to the other staff 'must be having a bad day, but thank you for your help'. No point trying to argue with the management.

I've been to see Milena 3 times now and each time is better than the last. I couldn't find a better salon if I tried. Milena is quick, my last cut was done in about 15 mins, professional and experienced and above all, friendly and down to earth. She's been doing her thing for a long, long time and it shows in her skill. She also has a really good range of products for any kind of style you could be wanting. My last cut was Don Draper style and she recommended I use her gel with comes in a convenient spray bottle that sets dry and combs out with no flakes which is a great combination of features for any guy. And the best part of going to her salon is that it's you, Milena and the furniture. No other staff, no other customers which makes it all the more a great experience. I recommend her to everyone and she's won me over.

I was performing in a concert of 1930s tango music and not only had to dress the part, but had to have a '30s hairstyle. I couldn't believe how Milena transformed me into a 1930s goddess. All the other musicians were amazed at my transformation and when I turned up at the concert hall, I was lavished compliments. I felt on top of the world and felt great on stage that evening. I had walked into the salon with long hair that badly needed a cut. Straightaway Milena worked out what needed to be done: snip, snip, rollers, brushing, combing, curls, spray. She used all her skill gained over many years, plus her artistic talent to create a style that totally suited me. You're an artist and a star, Milena. Thank you!

I went to see Melinda from the leopard lounge for a major over hall. going there was the best idea I have ever had, my work roster makes it hard when trying to make appointments but not with Melinda she opened the shop for me and did such a fantastic job on my new style. The atmosphere and service you receive as soon as you step into the salon is like no other, she won my loyalty. Angela

Leopard Lounge was absolutely an amazing all round experience. Everything from when you first walk in the door and are welcomed with fitting classic and upbeat music which paired with the lovely eclectic collection of vintage inspired magazines, furniture, decor and fashion - a true beauty parlour.
With not much idea of what I wanted, I was recommended by a friend Sharni and walked out it possibly the best cut and style I've had. To add to that, I've been through a lot of generic hair products and was introduced to some home made ones from Milena which had more instant results then anything else I've used with my hair.
I walked out confident, happy and best of all: relieved to meet someone who simply understands a vintage do - will return.

I am a Sydney native but live overseas in Europe. I made a short visit to Sydney recently to visit family and decided to get a haircut here as my fringe/ bangs and hair were getting too long. I went to the Leopard Lounge and had a cut and colour last Friday, mainly on the strength of these reviews.

I did not get the haircut I specified and I am very upset. I brought in pictures of the haircut I wanted. This is a haircut that I have been maintaining for a while at my regular hairdresser in Europe. I didn't think it would be too hard to replicate again. The haircut pictures included Jean Shrimpton and Krysten Ritter. Basically long hair with a small fringe with little gappy bits in it. I came out with hair that did not look as it did in the pictures - my fringe is very thick and wide. My boyfriend calls me "Cousin It" and my sister "Scooby Do". It looks, in my opinion terrible, and I am stuck trying to grow it out. I am hoping that my regular hairdresser can fix it up somehow but I cannot really see how that can be done.

The cut and colour cost $270 which also seemed a lot. But probably my fault as I did not clarify the exact price before I got it done.

I phoned and emailed the hairdresser directly to complain which left me feeling worse. I was at least hoping for an apology and refund of some money to go towards fixing it up as a gesture. But the hairdresser did not think they had done anything wrong and claimed they didn't cut any extra hair in my fringe than had already been cut. I disagree.

I had the very same experience last Thursday night. I had the worst cut i have ever had done to my hair. I, like you took a picture of jean shrimpton, to me a very simple 60's cut. Hairdresser paid no attention to my request and cut horrible layers very very short and ruined my fringe. To add insult to injury she coloured my hair which she has burt with peroxide. I told her my sclap wa itching and stinging. My hair looks frazzled. My partnet is disgusted. The worst experience I have ever had. I night add she booked me in for 3.30 and called me and changed to 6.30pm, as she was running late....turns out she told me during my ordeal that she couldent be bothered getting up for work until well after midday hence making her clients accomodate her slopy work practices.
I am now going to have some extentions to try to rectify this hiddious look, which in total will have cost me close to $800.00 dollars..$270 to her

Loved the service at The Leopard Lounge! Milena is amazing and was the only one that had the confidence to touch my hair and take it from black to an amazing hot red colour in the first go!!! She is truly the best in Newtown. Other salons in Newtown were hesitant to take on the challenge...but not Milena from The Leopard Lounge! Milena is a retro hair specialist with over 20 years of experience and does the most awesome retro pin up hair I have seen...I never knew my hair could look and feel so healthy....by the way her handmade hair products are to die for!! Milena you have gained a new client and I will definitely spread the word on your awesome retro 50's salon! See you soon :)

I am about to have my second appointment at Milena's Leopard Lounge tonight and i cannot wait! Not only is it an amazing hair experience but Milena treats you as a friend, not as a client. The first dye/cut was a bleach blonde and i have been bleaching my hair for 5 years and NO ONE has ever done a job like Milena, my blonde has not turned brassy, the dye was friendly to my scalp and i have never had so many compliments.
Milena also has an amazing range of clothes, shoes, bags, make up,hair accessories, perfume and MORE. Its very dangerous because you want to buy everything its so amazing. I recommend Milena to anyone wanting to get the best blonde dye/haircut you have ever had, or even just an amazing hair experience.

I have just had my hair done at what has to be the coolest retro/vintage salon in Sydney! Milena is the stylist and she is amazing- she even makes and sells her own range of organic skin and hair products as well as rockabilly style cardigans. While I was waiting for my colour to develop (her hair dye has been the only one that did not to burn my scalp), I had a browse around the shop and ended up buying a cool vintage dress, Agent Provcateur perfume and some Allannah Hill earrings. She even made me a cool pink martini! Highly suggest bringing a gal pal and having your hair done together for an ultimate girlie day out.

Nestled in a quiet spot just off busy King St lies The Leopard Lounge, a 50's-60's glamorous, eclectic, kitsch time warp of girly delights. The salon with its lavish decor encapsulates the sophistication and vintage charm of days gone by. I was greeted by the beautiful Milena and welcomed in to sit back and enjoy a pink martini while she began the amazing transformation of my hair. The personalised service at The Leopard Lounge is fantastic, Milena is very friendly and attentive has a fine eye for detail. No post haircut regrets here! The Leopard Lounge experience is a real treat, I would recommend this salon to all and I can't wait to return for my next visit!
