I don't agree with the reviewer below at all. This is an excellent pub if you like the laid-back, trad style - unpretentious, comfy and homely, a bit run down, a bit like a country pub. The food is pretty good ($12-18) and they have a $10 roast special on Sunday. Wednesday nights is poker, Friday nights musos come for an informal jam, and they sometimes have events and bands (who mostly play covers of Stones, classic rock, stuff like that). It's pretty working-class, casual and relaxed, the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's quite a big place and good for your own special events. Nothing wrong with the drinks and the prices are inexpensive. I brought twenty-five poets here for a special poetry event - wondered whether they would get along with the locals - well, they had a GREAT time! And the women who grew up in a sheep farm said the lamb roast was very good.

This is certainly the worst pub I've been in for a number of years. Miserable food, flat beer on our last visit and all the ambience of a dunny. I would agree that the barstaff have their hearts in the right place - that's the best I can say for the palce.

I have to wonder whether the reviewer below either a.) went to the same pub or b.) works for them

Fantastic food! Great Value for money. Friday nights are great with karaoke. The $2 vodka jellies work. Great staff. The venu itself has a lovely homely, country feel about it. It's such a great place to have a function. Great food, staff, and you are relly made welcome and they do all they can to make it a special night. Thursday Parma and Pot - best parmas anywhere. They also have Texas hold'em poker on Wednesday nights, also fun and you can win prizes too. Check their website for bands. You should go there!
