Be charmed. Be cultivated. Be captured by Sydney's newest cutting-edge restaurant, bar and oyster room; an authentic New York style brasserie, charismatic yet cheeky - The Morrison

A beautifully styled space reminiscent of the Oyster Rooms of old New York and London. We cook quality produce simply- always allowing the ingredients to speak for themselves.

Fraser Short and Sean Connolly invite you on a culinary and cocktail journey through heritage Sydney. What was the old Brooklyn Hotel is now the beautifully refurbished Morrison Bar and Oyster Room

The majority of our food is cooked over an open fire, and we choose to cook on the bone wherever possible to give you the true flavour of the ingredients.

Our oysters are sourced from all over Australia and are guaranteed to be the best our nation has to offer. We offer all day dining and pride ourselves on a service that is stylish and efficient while remaining distinctly unique.

Dine with friends at communal tables in The Oyster Room, an informal affair where you can watch centre stage as Australia's finest oysters are shucked-to-order. The Conservatory is The Morrison's open air terrace which offers a private but stylish setting under the stars, cocktail in hand and a la carte menu to feast on. The bustling Parlour is the destination that allows you to unwind the working week surrounded by friends for a long and late as you like.

The restaurant menu is grown up. Executive Chef Sean Connolly's international experience shines, reflecting his signature style of seasonal produce, cooked on the bone and in the shell wherever possible.

Feel at home among friends as we invite you to be captured in the unique experience of charm and style that is The Morrison.

Reviews of The Morrison Bar and Oyster Room

Came here today for a client Christmas lunch and was very impressed! The waiter was lovely and friendly and helped us choose some nice cocktails to start with. They have a wide menu that caters to all palettes. Our food came out so quickly we barely had any time to chat! The food is high quality and really fresh. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone if you're looking for a good feed. Although I would say that the cocktails were a little light on the alcohol.
  • A great ambiance and atmosphere, however inside dinning area is a little loud when busy - much prefer the outside seating. Excellent friendly service, highly recommend the duck fat chips! Definitely will be back :)
  • Disappointed to visit and find the level of service and standard of food has dropped significantly. Unhappy staff who were confused about the menu which led to multiple mistakes. Pros - Food came out efficiently and plates were cleared quickly. Oysters were ok, but one so teeny maybe not worth the $4 price tag. Chips were soggy and uninspiring. Sad to give low rating and hope it was just a bad night, but I wont be back again.
  • Haven't tried the oysters.
But their burger was just OK. And the pasta wasn't great for the price.
    Beautiful space though!
  • Some of the best oysters in Sydney!

We frequently keep coming back to the Morrison for the delicious fresh oysters. We enjoy the ambience and are always friendly.

The oysters are a little on the expensive side but certainly are worth it!

Had dinner here last week. we had to to wait a little bit which is fair enough as we hadn't booked and even though it was a Wednesday night. The tables are quite close together. I have the Lamb and Beef Ragu.I have to say I really enjoyed it however I had to eat it on my own as the person who I was with ordered the GRAVLAX OF OCEAN TROUT for $22 which was literally a few piece of fish and leaves couldn't even find the Avo so we sent it back. They were very good in taking it back and replacing it for something else. I would go back but stay clear of any of the salad dishes and go for something a little bit more substantial.
  • I went here with my wife and it's the first time that she ever sent back food in her life. My food was not very good either. It only gets one star because they at least serve drinks.

Not a bad city bar. A great outside area out the back, that's sheltered from the weather. Gets a huge crowd of city workers (suits) after 5pm - particularly on Fridays.

i have been going here for years. reasonably priced drinks and great dancing music gets you in the mood for a big (big) night out!
