The Point Hotel is a heritage listed establishment in Pyrmont. It has benefited from renovations that have seen it successfully maintain its traditional public bar whilst modernising other areas of the venue. Margot's Lounge on the first floor is particularly chic, with its rich hues, warm mood lighting and plush furnishings and curtains. Meanwhile, the public bar downstairs televises live sporting events and offers TAB facilities. The Point is also a popular choice for those looking to hold a function.

A nice clean pub that's been recently renovated. Serves good food, and can be hard to find a table during peak times. worth a visit.

Great food. I am a big fan of the burger. Always packed during lunch hours (especially Friday's) which means you might have to wait for your food a bit. Never mind, there is always a quick beer n tab.

Food is delicious yet a little bit pricey for what is essentially a pub with a nice make over. Great for big group lunches if you can get the upstairs section to yourself. Good atmosphere but don't go for lunch here if you're in a hurry.

The Point is a very relaxed and cosy pub. It has a great selection of food (I recommend the chicken burger) and has an excellent contrast with the modern interior set in a old style pub.

The first of the pubs on the Harris Street strip to get the makeover treatment. The food is pretty good and a cut above the average pub fare, but you pay for the privilege. And unlike the wood and glass surfaces that now dominate, the service can often be less than polished. Every time we have been there with a group of any size, at least one order is lost or mixed up.

The other trick is that you pay more for a smaller glass of the same beer upstairs, so many ignore the warnings not to carry glass on the stairs and carry their schooners up with them.

At the end of the week, the pub's heritage as a worker's pub clashes headlong with its newly-gentrified identity, when the office workers meet the workers in the downstairs bar area, and it gets pretty crowded.

But if you come on a lazy weekday afternoon, and sit out the back or one the lounges near the kitchen, it's a pleasant place to spend a few hours.

Not bad - the food is decent and the menu is wide enough. The interior is nice and modern.
