Known to be busy The Quarter Cafe tables are at a premium. The coffee is known to be good so that may well be the reason why this place is a buzz with patrons. This place is cross between a restaurant and café. The cuisine is fundamentally Mediterranean and easily nourishing with their generous servings. It is recommended that you check the specials board so you don’t miss out. Lunch time is a favourite with the city crowd and breakfast is a quieter affair.

Great service, they sat us down with a genuine smile, menus and a glass of water straight away. They were very informative when we asked them about gluten-free cuisine. The food came out impressively fast. My friend had the spaghetti with sundried tomatoes, mushrooms and parsley in a cream sauce while I had the risotto of the day which was duck breast with chorizo, spanish onion and garden peas in a tomato broth. Both were served with generous amounts of parmesan. The duck was tender, the tomato broth lovely and risotto perfect.Only flaw was that when taking up the waiter's offer of pepper, he didn't seem to hear us when we said "that's fine". The servings were extremely generous in that we could only have half of our dishes each; the waitress seemed to understand :) Both mains were under $23 each. Will definitely come by again the next time I'm in Melbourne!

Love to stop here for a big brekky when visiting Melbourne. The servings are generous and the coffee is good. Great atmosphere, but can get a little cramped when busy - all part of the fun. And the food keeps you going all day!
    Another great little Melbourne gem.

funky little cafe in a cool melbourne lane that has a great relaxed atmosphere
the quarter cafe has really yummy baguettes and wraps that are all made fresh daily and you can make to order at any time of the day
    coffee is also okay
you do have the option to eat on or take away, however eat in is very squashy and you will be sitting on milk crates
