Cannot say how bad this experience was. Six of us went. Wrong order brought out three times, two meals missed altogether and one couple was starting 30 min after we finished. Food was average though plenty of it. Our coffees came out over a 20 minute period so again we weren't drinking together. Unbelievable.

fantastic meals, especially the parmas and the deserts are fantastic, great friendly staff, would defiantly return and would recommend for anyone who is wanting a good feed.

Have been to The Settlement many times and have always been looked after very well. The food, service and good old fashioned decor makes it a great place to eat with family or friends. If eating in the Bistro I would recommend any of the parmas, if eating in the Cafe then try a woodfired pizza.

After driving back from Wilsons Promomentry late on a Sunday evening. A group of my friends dropped into the settlement, its wood fire pizza's were fantastic. Great bar as well. Enjoyed it so much I shall be taking the family back next week and may even stay the night.

Have just finished a 3 day stay here. The Hotel rooms are large, clean and have a very good sized spa bath. The Heritage Building is beautiful. The restaurant has Very Good Meals with a large range on the menu. Food was served piping hot. There was a play area for kids to go and stay occupied. Wait staff were very friendly and attentive. I had wood fire pizza's at lunch and they were also Very Good.
Staff also attached to the Hotel part were very good.
All in all I would definately recommend The Settlement to everyone.
I know next time I'm in Cranbourne that's where I would stay.

Beautiful looking hotel, friendly staff and great food. Had a family function in the Bistro and the staff made us all feel so welcomed - nothing was too much not even my elderly mother's dietary needs. All our meals were great and come out in a timely manner. After dinner some of us more into the Cafe /Bar which has a great atmosphere and great coffee. Will be making The Settlement a regular family meeting place.

Worst meal i have had in years.
I ordered a chicken kiev, it was not a kiev, it was a hunk of chicken crumbed, laid on a bed of half cooked cold rice with the worst cheese sauce EVER poured over the top, the cheese sauce was like it had been made with the cheap plastic slices you get at supermarket and had been sitting so long it had a film on it when it arrived at my table. All that served with a side of cold chips.

We complained of the chips being cold, then this happened.

My sister had ordered the grilled fish and chips, it was very obvious the chips had been put back in the fryer to re-heat, which was the first put off of her meal. The second and worse part was the fish stank like something you pulled out of a week old load of trash. From what my sister said it didn't taste much better than that either. We asked what the fish was, travelli is what we were told, oh and from Western Australia. What? was that meant to make it sound fancy? NO!! it told us it was not fresh nor local.

The kids meal was also overpriced, $8.50 for one of their meals, we chose the nuggets and chips, and also went for a meal deal which put the price up to $11.50, where you received a free drink, bag of lollies, a novelty bag (that you never receive and they know nothing of, even though its written in the menu) and some crayons.
Sadly you get a better deal at Mc Donalds, and with better quality food too. There was a measly four nuggets and not even a handful of those dreaded cold chips.

On a up note of the place, the chicken parmigiana was nice, or so my aunts thought, and the hotel to look at is just beautiful.

Overall it was foul, and it appears they have spent all their money making the hotel to die for in appearance and spend no money at all on the staff.. sad

The Settlement Hotel is the newest Hotel in Cranbourne. It has an extensive Menu, and the meals are well presented, plentiful, and reasonably priced. The Decor is beautiful and relaxing, and parents can relax, knowing that the PlayRoom is there to cater to the younger set! Also on offer is the Cafe...where you can get quick and light meals...and sit outside in the wonderful Outdoors Dining Area.. Also, the Gaming Room is great to go spend some time with friends, and maybe have some luck on the Poker Machines... The Bottle shop is well stocked and very handy if you want to Drive Through..All in all, a wonderful place to have a meal and chill out..
