 After closing his long-running self-titled Geelong West cafe, owner Giuseppe Barbagallo's latest venture is unapologetically home-grown. 

Everything about his new Sicilian restaurant is uncomplicated. Aptly titled the Sicilian, the food and wine on offer are, you guessed it, Sicilian. The extensive wine list of southern Italian drops is beautifully paired with the simple, honest fare proffered on the menu.

Southern Italy has brought us some of the best of Italian food and you can try it all here at the Sicilian! I can guarantee you will want to return to try more dishes! Quite a good selection of wines and nice desserts.

Very good place with interesting food and pleasant staff. They always find new ways to surprise me and inspire me for the day. The last time I was there I had the Rigattoni alla norma (I'm not sure if I'm typing it right :) and it was great - freshly prepared and served with care. Thank you.

The meals are mouth-watering, really tasty. I like the Rigatoni alla Norma a lot. Prices are not so low, but still you will have some pleasant time if you go there.

The tiramisu is worth the 4 stars alone. A regular haunt for me, always find the staff very knowledgeable and helpful.

The food is fantastic, bursting with flavor and a delight to eat. The wine was top notch. While the wine list and menu were not in English, the waiting staff were happy to explain, assist and recommend.

We headed to The Sicilian before a friends going away party on a Saturday night. The food was amazing, the wine was amazing and the desert was the most amazing I've ever had (the double moose cake!). We had the bruschetta was so flavoursome, the Lamb cutlets down well and the Veal osso bucco so tender. We will be back!

Great food, great service. Insalata di Pulpo con Cuore di Sedani e Noci octopus, walnuts, celery hearts in olive oil is a taste sensation! The Maltagliata di Manzo con Rucola simply panfried beef tossed with rocket is pure elegance. This place is a must. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive and friendly, without being obtrusive. Joe was truly appreciaitive of our thanks. Will definitely be back here every time we are in Melbourne.

Authentic Sicilian food with good simple food; just like eating in a local restaurant in Italy. Our table was well looked after and we didnt realise the time was so late when dessert arrived (very hard to choose from the Tiramisu or the Lemon Tart) possibly due to the fact we were so relaxed and enjoyed the food and wine so much (and it was a busy Friday night!). Joe, you definitely will see us again!
