As a regular the coffee is great. The service is not consistent. I feel it lives on its past reputation, not current performance.

OVER RATED! Sadly the food is well boring, the service is disgusting and the drinks are so-so!

I would have to say that this is one of the best cafes I have been to in a very long time! The atmosphere makes you feel welcome and relaxed, the staff are friendly and so efficient!

They have done so well fitting out this cafe where as not to fit in with the mainstream industry and rather "did what they wanted", it's quirky and fun and it's also a great feeling to know that cafes like this are still around.

They have an amazing array of cakes and slices, you can't help but order something to nibble on and you will definitely be happy that you did! The coffee is delicious and they have such a diverse menu for coffee and tea - there is something for everyone.

All up, we had a great experience and will definitely be returning very soon.

Amazing coffee, but going there after dinner for a coffee and cake on a Saturday night I've got to say it was not worth the trouble. After waiting and hovering for about 20 minutes for a table we finally found one but those sitting on the outer edge found themselves being pushed and shoved more then in a nightclub! Would possibly give it another try during the day or on a week night, but as an after dinner stopover it was not worth the hassle.

This place isn't what it used to be. Can't really recommend it any more. Went there last Friday, the moment we had finshed dinner we were asked to leave because the table was needed! I can understand that they need to turn around tables quickly but kicking people out the minute they finish eating is a bit over the top!
Also, the food isn't as good as it used to be. I had the Moussaka, and the source hadn't cooked long enough so the minced beef wasn't soft. Also, they didn't have the lemon meringue any more, so I had to have some other cake instead. Tea and non-alcoholic drinks were really good, but that's not of much use if you can't even have a cup of tea after your dinner unless you order more food with it. What cafe would not allow customers to have a tea or coffee after dinner before they leave?

Three Monkeys is a West End icon - always good coffee and great food. The staff are always friendly and the decor definitely makes the place unique! The place is gets quite busy on the weekends, best to visit early or at lunch on weekdays.

Really interesting place, that's for sure. Great menu, with something for everyone. You get your meal fairly quickly despite how busy it usually is, and the food/coffee is great. The most unique place to have lunch or a coffee in Brisbane. I would recommend to anyone.

I love the interior of this cafe - I frequented it more in my student days - but went there for lunch with a friend only a few weeks ago and remember just how great it is. Great food - usual cafe style - we shared the quiche and a filo, very tasty.
But it is the atmosphere that really makes this cafe stand out - very eclectic decor but it really works and I pleased they haven't changed.

Love Three Monkeys to death... though it gets busy, the meals and drinks always come out promptly.

The coffee is the best in all of Brisbane. Not sure what the blend is, but it is so smooth and yum.

Great range of meals. The Holumi platter is my favourite.

Love the outdoor seating too... so relaxing

Great coffee, a huge variety of delicious cakes, broad general menu. This is a lovely spot away from the hustle and bustle of West End. Inside is like Aladdin's cave, all little nooks and crannies with funky seats and cushions, while outside is a pleasantly cool garden area. Only downside is the aroma inside can be a bit musty/incense smelling at times. A top place, definitely worth a visit!

  • The Three Monkey's Coffee & Tea House

    Ultimate Brisbane

Don’t go to bed, go to Three Monkeys. This place is open late most nights and is perfect for relaxing or socialising. The coffees are superb and the tea menu is comprehensive, but the striking feature is the cosy atmosphere. Backgammon boards and decks of cards are tossed around and it’s almost as if you’ve entered an enchanted world where people don’t sleep; they just enjoy delicious chai and cakes. This is a truly beautiful café.
