The greatest thing about Thomas Dux is the samples! You can get an entire meal just from the samples. The quality of the produce is very high, although the products are very expensive. I was impressed that Woolworths could open such a hip supermarket. It is definately marketed at the wealthy inner city dwellers, very sucessfully. The only concern I have is that they stop providing the samples - I hope this never happens.

I was very "anti" this store because of it's parent company ownership by Woolworths. Not wanting be a slave to a large company entirely, I had avoided it. However, I had occasion to wonder through with a friend the other day, and must say I was totally impressed. The range, quality and service are all excellent. Prices are fair. It's not Aldi prices - but then it's not Aldi is it? Three thumbs up from me. I've been back many times since. Woolworths now own me. Check it out!

  I agree. I never go into here but i thought i would give it a go. The range of packaged meats and the deli items was fantastic for a small supermarket. However, the fruit and vegies are still very lacklustre. If they could lift the quality of the fresh produce, I would go here more often but until then, I will only go here when I need emergency supplies or some quick meat. Also, the meat was very good value. I bought organic pork fillets that were delicious and no more expensive than a butcher or other supermarkets. Please fix the fruit and I will happily shop here.

I went here specifically to find a decent variety of potatoes, which they have which is nice to know.

I guess this is the sort of place you go if you like a better standard of produce and deli goods and don't mind also paying a bit of a premium price also. For the most part it seems to me that it's just a boutique grocery store and you have to make the choice whether the quality outweighs the cost concern.

I think you can probably get a lot of stuff sold at Thomas Dux somewhere else, of similar quality and for a smaller price.

All the non-deli meat is pre-packaged too.

Glad Surry Hills now has Thomas Dux. Great range of meats deli items, friendly staff, open late which is ideal for organising meals on the way home from work. Definately the best deli in Surry Hills in terms of choices of meat, vegetables and out of season produce.
