    Sensational seafood on the northside. Naysayers might get mad because of long waits at busy times but if you want the BEST calamari and amazing fish/chips in the chermside area, this is the place to visit!!!

    We have been going to this place for years but have noticed a definite drop in customer service and food quality levels of late. This evening we ordered via phone, there was no barramundi left.. that's fair enough as it is Sunday evening. The young girl assures me my order will be ready for collection within 15 minutes. 45 mins later I am still standing around waiting.. I am finally given my family's meal. I arrive home to find that there is no lemon or salt as promised - fine I can handle that. I find that the kabana has gone off and the dim sims are old, the batter soggy and not cooked properly and our $5 worth of chips enough for our 2 small children to finish and still ask for more.... Considering we spent $50 on this meal and had to throw half of it out I am less than happy...

    Ok I like Trawler Fresh Seafoods. They churn out a good quality product but what they make up in quality they lack in common sense & competence. Whatever you do NOT order their meal deals. The first time we ordered a family meal deal it was perfect. The second time the prawn cutlets were missing so when I ordered the third time I advised that this was the case. No additional prawn cutlets which would have demonstrated hospitality and provided customer service!!! This time they left out the chips.....yes the chips!! Because he when you go to a fish and chip shop generally speaking you just order the fish unless of course you're on the Atkins diet!!!! So I promptly telephoned them and advised them. A staff member informed me that chips do not accompany this meal....oh but wait it does....will go and see the manager!!!! Why were these items missing?? It appears that when a customer orders a meal deal they need to write down every single item in that deal to process the order. So they just didn't write it down....simple really but a very very dumb system!! So the morale of the story is that next time you venture into Trawler Fish Seafoods save them the trouble and write it all down for them!!! Seriously.

    Hands down the BEST fish and chip shop in Brisbane!! Fish is always delicious, chips/potato gems are crisp and crunchy & their potato scallops are AMAZING!!! Highly recommended!!

    We get dinner from Trawler Fresh every Saturday night and the food is simply amazing. Best fish and chips this side of Brisbane! The chips are always crunchy and the fish so so fresh and delicious and they make the best potato scallops, for us it's been consistently great food each week, love it!

    Been our fav & thus our only fish n chip shop in 2yrs. Until today. Had previously always been the best for crunchy chips, fresh fish, good service. Sadly, tonight our chips are oil sodden, more burnt than cooked & a strange mixture of crinkle cut/ straight cut. very disappointing for weekly regulars. Will be taking chips back in to show owner. Hopefully it's better next time .

    So disappointing. The quality of food is so inconsistent. $7 worth of chips looked more like $2. We won't be returning unfortunately.

      I can't believe those who have negative comments. Seriously in all the time we have been going to Trawler Fresh Virginia we have always had consistantly great food, fresh as!!!

      The quality of the food is excellent. The reference that $7 looked more like $2 has nothing to do with the quality of the food.

    My family have been going to Trawler Fresh Seafoods for take out every Friday night for as long as we can remember. The food is ALWAYS fresh, just as the name says and although it is really busy most Friday and Saturday nights, the staff are working extra fast to get the orders out on time. Love the crumbed cod, seafood sticks, calamari and chips are always cooked to perfection. We travel about 5klms to get there and believe me we are happy to do it for the great seafood.

    Honestly I have stopped going here the place is so hit and miss it's not funny. I bought the worst prawns I have ever eaten in Australia at this place. I have found places that do better fish and chips that don't simply ride on an undeserved "good reputation"
