Went back after many years away, got to say nice to be back guys at Tsiknaris, love my new look you gave me last week. Thanks again and well done with the awards, justifiably deserved! Louisa
I came in just last week and had a haircut and it was a fantastic experience! The basin area downstairs has such a lovely, relaxing vibe and i received a great head massage from a lovely boy who shampooed me.
When done we went back upstairs for my haircut which i was so happy with the change. would recommend to anyone looking for a change or some hair advice.
To bad I can only give 5 stars.
Funnily enough reading the 3rd review on here - I had almost exactly the same experience today....
After spending nearly $400 on Saturday, getting my hair cut, coloured and effective completely ruined - i went back in today to try and fix the mistake of the staff that had coloured my hair.
After seeing them today - they managed to get it to an almost normal colour - however staff explained to me that my hair was effectively ruined on Saturday, due to the fact the apprentice took the blonde all the way through to the tips - which they never should have done. I asked them what could be done to fix it - and they replied all I could do was chop all my hair off - as it was basically ruined.
Upon hearing this news I asked to speak to the management who very rudely came up to me, sneered at me and said "we haven't RUINED anything - you still have hair on your head do you not".....and turned to the staff and said "write her a check for the colour - and nothing else".
I explained that I wasn't trying to be a pest, but I had paid $400 for a cut and colour, and my long hair was ruined, and I would have to get it cut off to fix it:(. They walked away whilst I was mid sentence. I explained I didn't think it was fair I had forked out all this money to have my hair ruined.
Never in my life have I ever experienced anything SO rude in all my life.
Even worse - staff come back and gives me a check for $166.00. I said - so you charged for $234.00 for the cut?? I spent $392.00 - and had the receipt to prove it.
They just stood there - and decided I must have been over charged - and they said there was nothing he could do.
I wouldn't take my puppy to these people to get a haircut. Buyer BE WARNED.
I have now cut my long hair off to just under my ears - that's how bad it was damaged:(.
Undoubtedly the best hair salon in Brisbane in regards to expertise, cutting edge hair styles, friendly staff and value for money. I have tried several other hair salons over the years, and I keep coming back to Tsikinaris, because they listen to my needs.
I have been going to Tsiknaris Hair Salon for over three years and each time I have spent alot of money. The last time I went there about three months ago, I had a hair cut. I asked for a straight across trim but upon getting home from the salon, my partner and various friends commented on how crooked it was. I phoned the salon back the next day and explained that it was crooked, they said no problem when you get back from overseas pop back into the salon and we'll fix it up. I went into the salon tonight to have my hair coloured and the cut corrected. No sooner had I walked into the salon I was greeted with rude sneers (I can only assume was due to my complaint.)
After sitting down with my colourist, he said that he had some bad news for me; that they could no longer fix my hair free of charge. I explained that I had been overseas and that I was planning on having it corrected the next time I had colour done. He smirked at me and didn't say a word.
While I was having my hair coloured, the normally friendly and rather chatty colourist, barely spoke to me. He did not ask me before colouring what I wanted he simply started to apply it to my hair, assuming that this was what I wanted.
He told me that if I wanted my hair blow dried it would be an extra $60, I said no that's okay just dried off as usual will be fine. Every previous time visit to this one, they have blow dried my hair, not styled, but just so that it is dry, not dripping down my back. This time he choose not to. My hair was patted with a towel instead and left to sit wet over my back.
The owner of the salon came over and checked the length of my hair. He told me the cut was fine and not crooked. This obviously goes against what other people have told me. In the meantime the hairdresser who had cut my hair crookedly the previous time, stood nearby smirking with another staff member.
When I went to pay for my hair colour I confirmed the price was $115. He said yes $115. Plus $120 for products. After walking outside I had a look at the bill and they had overcharged me for my hair colour by $7. If it had been a fantastic service with polite friendly staff I wouldn't have asked, but I went back and double checked. They refused to admit that it was overcharged and claimed that it was a price increase, even though I'd confirmed payment with him before swiping my eft card. Three hairdressers stood behind the counter laughing at me as I was leaving. I let it go and decided to write this review to express my dissatisfaction on the service, instead.
As I said in the beginning, I have been coming to this salon for over three years and in that time have spent quite alot of money there, in excess of $2000. I did not deserve to be treated today with such disrespect and absolute rudeness. I received such snobbery from their staff members simply because I pointed out that my hair cut was crooked, due to this I thoroughly did not enjoy my experience at the salon and was extremely disappointed in the service from the staff.
When a service does not meet the expectation that it is meant to deliver, quite obviously the consumer will become distressed at the treatment, as the expectation between price and service has not been met. Friends have been told of the experience, it has been posted on TrueLocal and other review sites. Customer retention is an important and essiential part of businesses and horrid experiences like this should not occur. An apology and friendly treatment would have gone along way and ensured that I would have continued to use Tsiknaris throughout future years. But this did not occur. I will make sure that I tell everyone that I know about this experience so that they also do not waste their money at a salon where staff do not respect their clients or provide the expected service.
To sum up; my hair cut was not corrected as this would have cost me another $90, I received attitude and disrespect from the staff and I left with wet hair dripping down my back, and to top it all off with an overcharged bill. I do not recommend Tsiknaris Hair Salon.
You have just lost a customer. In future I will take my money elsewhere.
Always get a great hair cut here, the staff are fun and really know their stuff. They are up to date with the latest trends so it's good that they mix it up and keep your style fresh.
I've been going here for years and now that I've moved to Sydney I still go...a little extreme but well worth it. The stylists are fantastic and take their time to discuss what you want and make recommendations that will suit your lifestyle. Bill and Mary the owners are great.
One of the best hair salons I have been too. Super friendly service and thier stylists really know what they are doing. You are guaranteed to walk out looking great.
