This company was appointed Project Manager by the Insurance company. Had to be told which order to have tradesmen arrive and after 4 months the first tradesmen finally appeared to quote jobs. All wanted to quote on a cheaper version (than existing) for the repair work which we declined. Their Cabinetmaker installed a cheap and nasty copy of existing vanity and we demanded the Insurer replace them from the job. Unique then sent a plumber and 2 tradesmen to remove offending vanity. After being given instructions on how to turn off the water, the plumber proceeding to flood the bathroom and adjoining bedroom which had the carpet replaced the week before. Unique then argued about arranging and paying for the carpets to be dried. Do not allow your Insurer to appoint this company as Project Manager, it has been a heartbreaking experience dealing with them.
Work carried out was good, no complaints on the quality of the tradsmen that they used, though the service and communication between myself and my case manager (who took a lot of days off) was very slow and delayed, thus delaying the how process. This job was as a result of an insurance claim in July '10, 4 months on and we are still waiting for the final touches. Good quality work , just poor on the service front, would proberly not by choice use this company again.
I refer to the comments from reviewer 13 Black. I am a Homeowner at Patterson Lakes. I had a fire in my kitchen which totally freaked me out. I am insured with the Commonwealth Bank (ComInsure). They organised for Unique Building Services to do all the work which involved fixing the cabinets above the stove, installing a new range hood and exhaust fan, the painting of my kitchen, dining and lounge room which were smoked damaged and the replacement of my stove. I did not have to take any time off work, as they provided a key safe outside for the various tradespeople i.e painters, plasterers, electricians etc to complete their respective jobs. I'd come home in the evenings and the work in progress was evident. . I was so pleased with their service that I even took a bouquet of flowers to my case manager who had kept me informed every step of the way and gave her a letter of commendation. So, 13 Black your assumptions are unfounded. I logged back on to my account because I forgot to give the star ratings and read your message.
Unique Building Services provided a very professional service. We were contacted every step of the way. The staff are extremely friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend them.
I find your review very biased and one must question the legitimacy of the person making this review.
It is their 1st (post) and it is to glowingly comment on how great this company is... and specifically comment on the areas of concern which were previously mentioned....hmmmm...suspicious.
2 NEW accounts (or a bored employee) have specifically created new accounts to comment on the great service (*cough cough*) of Uniquely Bad Building Services... I just find that a little convenient.
In future (which I am sure will be soon enough) try to provide more specific detail on why these guys are soo great. Furthermore, try to ensure that your fake account has reviewed 2 or 3 other companies.

One of the most professional builders, I have had several insurance claims over the years and they were by far better than other so called insurance restoration specialists. Would recommend them to anyone who has an insurance claim.
Customer Service: Non existent. They choose not to turn up to the scheduled time, then came at 08:15 in the morning when we rescheduled (time was from 09:00 - 11:00).
Quality: Dodgy, sub par at best!
Do yourself a favour and do not use this company. I made the mistake, and I warn you not to make the same mistake. The price may seem reasonable but the headaches Unique Building Services provides is not worth the trouble.
I have found Unique Building Services to have the highest integrity, reliability and professionalism when dealing with the work associated with my insurance claim. The case manager assigned to me was very compassionate and pleasant, kept me informed of the progress of work and very accessible any time I needed any further information, demonstrating professionalism at all times. They took all the worry out of what could have been a traumatic situation. I highly recommend them to potential customers.
