Great atmosphere for a drink and dinner. Cool tunes, good crowd and tasty food. A classic Darlinghurst venue.

Roll out the scones and Chantilly cream, the pickled cucumber sandwiches and the mini custard tarts, high tea is so aristocratic Victorian England, but oh so much fun!

Its completely girly and a great way to spend an afternoon celebrating a birthday or baby shower or to just leave the boys behind and talk as only ladies can over cups of delicious tea or for those of us who like to spice things up over a delightful cocktail (highly recommend the gilded lily and VR punch bowl) or glass of champagne.

From the street the building is particularly drab but walk up the stair and enter into a British Indian oasis full of little alcoves and subtly screened off areas that make each setting feel like one can have a private tete a tete!

The menu can be somewhat limiting and seemingly expensive however trust me you wont leave hungry!

This place is a must visit, if not for the dcor alone. The moment you step through those doors, you will feel as though you have been immediately thrown into another world. I visited the victoria room for the first time last night, and for the majority I had completely forgotten I was sitting in a bar in Darlinghurst. The furniture, dim lights, beautiful rugs, and decorative pieces are enough to have you gazing around the room for hours. And lets not forget why I was actually there - the cocktails! One word: delicious. I didnt try the food there, but I had a quick look at the menu and I could easily be back to sample the other half of the cocktail list (YUM), accompanied with a thing or two from the menu.

Fantastic place to go for dinner or just a drink. I was there last night and had one of the most amazing cocktails i had ever had in my life, i just wish i remembered the name of it. I do remember it had mulberrys and gin as ingredients. All the bar staff were vibrant and having a good time which lifted the mood and atmosphere of the place. The decor is very vintage, dim lighting, low lounges etc, a bit burlesque. All in all, loved it and will be back

I love this place! The food is exquisite, the service fantastic and the decor stunning.
I've been here for drinks, high tea and I've organised a function and loved all three experiences.

    Highly recommended!

Wow. This place is an experience worth having! Have been twice for midnight fondue and cocktails - the food is as decadent as the decor and reasonably proced - grab a group of friends, order, sit back, relax and enjoy feeling like you are somewhere else entirely.

I visited The Victoria Room recently for a catch-up with friends. I had no expectations before I went in, but after heading up the flight of stairs it was like I had been transported back in time to the Victorian era!

This restaurant was the first of its kind I've seen. It's dimly lit with cute lamps decorating the tables, and the rest of the furnishings and decor complement the era they have successfully tried to re-create.

The food was absolutely divine! We had the standard High Tea package, and there were plenty of sandwiches, cute little sweets and scones to go around. Our tea cups were constantly refilled at no extra charge as well.

Highly recommended. Great opportunity to dress up and catch up with the girls or family.

Love the decor in this place - very colonial. Great cocktails and the service from the moment we walked in the door was great. Love the tapas style / sharing theme. The food was all delicious.

No air, always too busy! Not comfortable place to eat and relax and certainly not romatic. Food is great but and the decor is very cool!

Settle into a chaise longue in a kooky nook and cranny of the Vic Room where tea is served up to sounds of Nat King Cole. Eclectic furnishings aptly reflect the Victorian era and each table has its own little lampshade, adding ambience to your eating space. Soft sandwiches are chicken filled or salmon filled and the scones are served piping hot. There’s champagne and a long, long list of fabulous teas to drink. Be sure to choose the Queen Mary blend for that right-royal feeling.
