On Thursday the 31st of June my band were booked in to fly with your airline on a two pm flight. We arrived at the gate lounge and waited to board our flight. We were left for a further half an hour after the flight was supposed be boarded with no explanation.I proceeded to the desk to ask one of your staff what was going on to which I was told my flight was cancelled and we needed to get in the line (of approxomately 80 to 100 people) and wait. We waited in the line for 1 and a half hours until we got to the front of the Queue. We were then told that we were being move to a flight at 8.30 that nite. My band were playing a sold out show that evening and we were on stage at 8.40 pm, so this was not going to work for us. After half an hour of pleadding with the staff she put us on two flights within the next hour. When we arrived in Brisbane we were told that our luggage (our musical equipment that we need to perform with) had been lost. So no we are stuck in brisbane with no gear.The time was now 8.45 and we were supposed to be on stage performing. We have lost out on our $500 for the show,we have lost out on or $500 worth of merchandise that we sell at every gig,we have been hit with the bill for the stage gear we hired which comes to a total of $1200,plus our accomadation$170 and our car hire $89.Now,we were told because Virgin were responsible for this that we would be compensated justly.We have filled out a Property Irregularity report Ref :BNEDJ42127 and I would like to know when we will be compensated.We have always used Virgin and hold you in high steeem,please don't let us down
