Been training here for 4 years. Training here I have lost a dramatic amount of weight and kept it off. World Class coaches who know what they are talking about, for them it is more than business you can tell they thrive off watching their students skills improve & progress. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Clean and modern equipment/facilities, Great training programs. All members old and new are some of the most friendliest people you will meet, great place to have a laugh.
My Kids love this academy. The class is taught by a female Alex Chambers, who also happens to be a world famous fighter, the kids love her, she's easily the best instructor we've ever seen. From Crows nest to the Academy is only 5 minutes so its easy to get to as well. Great atmosphere
I've been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over a decade and have been a member of this academy for over three years now.
The quality of tuition and the support, especially for beginners is excellent. The atmosphere is very friendly and there are a lot of social activities as well, this isn't "just" a gym. Dylan and Liam really put their heart and soul into running this place and the huge number of members is testament to that.
There are also a lot of other class options (MMA, personal fitness, Muay Thai, Boxing, Krav Maga, Wrestling) so whether you are a professional fighter or grappler, or just looking to improve your fitness, there should be something for you.
I have been training at VT-1 for over 5 years now and I can honestly say that it has helped me in more ways than I was originally expecting. I am fitter than I have ever been in my life but more importantly I met some of my closest friends at VT-1 and my self confidence has improved dramatically. I would highly recommend this gym. The coaching staff truly care about the students and seem to always put in extra effort to help where ever they can.
I've been training at VT1 for 3 years now. I started there as a middle aged out of shape 90kg guy and over time have gained new skills, a hell of a lot of good friends and dropped to 73kg. This would not have been possible without the fun friendly atmosphere at the gym that keeps me coming back and keeps me engaged even as an older guy. The gym is family friendly (my son does BJJ classes) and I'm able to bring the kids with me once in a while when I train and there's always someone to keep an eye on them and keep them amused. The gym is also clean (many are not) and has a much more professional feel than most MT/MMA gyms I've been to (and I've been to many through sparring days and also training in other cities when I'm away on business). This professionalism is echoed in the coaching and training (where else do you get training from a former world champ MT fighter and a Gracie Black Belt? Where else do you get to train with top domestic fighters like Alex Chambers and Richie Walsh?).
I have been at VT1 for over 3 years now and really enjoy it! I am at the gym most days and the classes are always different, fun and challenging. The staff are always friendly, helpful and totally professional. With world champion coaches who are still always striving to improve themselves in order to help the students, there is no better place to train!
I've been training with the brothers for almost 3 years now and I've loved every minute of it. It doesn't look like much on the outside but inside you wouldn't believe how awesome this academy is. From coaches to staff to facilities to visiting UFC fighters! Easily the best BJJ, MMA and Mauy Thai lessons in Sydney
I just joined and I must say, I was scared thinking about joining an MMA/BJJ academy but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The instructors and students were really friendly! I did chose MMA and Gracie Jiu Jitsu, but they have world champion Muay Thai teachers as well, Krav maga. I moved my kids out of their karate school and put them in the kids classes...awesome stuff, highly recommended.
I've been training at VT1 for many years because the environment is safe, friendly and caters to all types - from those that just want to get fit to those who want to fight in the ring or cage. The 2 brothers who own the gym have a true passion of the martial arts and it shows by the way they teach. The facilities are top notch and they regularly bring in world champion UFC, BJJ and Muay Thai fighters for seminars. I wouldn't have been there so long if I didn't think it was worth staying.
