Red Vault is one of the Windsor newcomers making a particular style pitch.

For all the talk of Chapel Street's Windsor end being the edgy new south-of-the-river hot spot, evidence is a bit thin on the ground. There may be a slightly down-at-heel, attractively jumbled feel to this part of the strip that contrasts nicely with the increasingly plasticised and chain store-ridden northern stretch but the new businesses that have been attracting the talk are scattered about like dots waiting to be joined. More completely titled the Red Vault Wine Lovers Bar, this newish venue lives up to its name, presenting upwards of 350 varieties of fermented grape juice for your delectation. Where the wine portion of the drinks menu was once, for most bars, a simple collection of "red", "white" and - if you're really lucky - "sparkling", Red Vault's wine list is dizzying indeed. From pinot gris to sparkling red to...
