I brought two Scoopons to enable my wife and her best friend to have high tea in the orchid garden tea room attached to this restaurant. Both ladies are quite elderly and so not have large appetites.
Whilst what I purchased and what they had was described as High Tea they were obliged to go there at 12.00 noon which is more lunch time than High Tea time.
The ambience was OK but the high tea definitely disappointing there being very little of it-- this was evidenced by them stopping off at a bakery on the way home to buy something to eat with their afternoon tea at home at 3.30 pm. Normally after my wife has been out she doesnt have dinner let alone afternoon tea.
I guess the message is maybe you get what you pay for although I have to say previous Scoopon meals we have had have all been fine. Needless to say she wont be repeating the 35 km round trip to get to this out of the way place.
The waitresses were very nice and tried hard but the lack of food was just too much.
