  • To Yoyogi
Yoyogi is a Japanese restaurant that is popular with the locals. It has good friendly yet speedy service. It serves good Japanese food consistently, most popular choice is the yoyogi roll. Atmosphere is very casual and quite a modern in terms of interiors. Yoyogi is a good place for a light meal. Menus are illustrated and samples of food are on display in their window. Good value for money.

Yoyogi is a byword for generous servings of especially delicious sushi. Service is swift, and the sushi rolls are far larger and better value than most other sushi franchises. Depending on the staff for the day, you may have to ask for takeaway soy sauce, then check that they gave you enough, then ask again. But usually, they are fine. I will be back time and again, and recommend Yoyogi to all sushi lovers.

not bad at all. Generous servings, staff are friendly but could be a little more professional and attentive. I'm not convinced about the authenticity of some of their dishes but still, it caters towards so many people. The prices are reasonable and Yoyogi is always a good option for lunch whether you're quickly passing through or have time to sit down and enjoy. I love the chicken curry although they could put a little bit more chicken instead of potatoes!

the sushi is great value for money here, with sizes that would actually be able to fill you up. There is also a filling selection found here which is quite rare to find at other places (soft-shell crab roll comes to mind).

If you're after something fast, the home made Dim Sims are exceptional value at $0.80 each and it only takes a few to get you full.

Best of all though is the hot food menu which offers exceptionally large portions of great tasting Japanese fair at insanely low prices. Take for example the Yikunku Don (fried beef with rice), at approximately $8, the serving is so large that you'd think a whole cow went into it. The chicken curry is also exceptional value at only $6 or so.

While the service may not be flash, and the upstairs seating somewhat stuffy during the warmer months, once you've tried this place, it'll sure to become an easy choice for regular eating when you're in town.
