I recently discovered this delicious little French patisserie in the heart of The Rocks, Sydney, which I just had to share with you.
As you amble into La Renaissance off Argyle Street, the first thing that grabs your attention are the rows of beautifully created, almost too-perfect-to-eat cakes and sweets displayed behind the glass counter. My tastebuds tingling, I struggled to make the cruel decision of which cake to purchase. There were a wide range of treats to suit all tastes, from macaroons to fruit flans to cakes that would be banned for recovering chocoholics. The treats were aptly named after artists from the Renaissance period, such as Monet, Mousse Picasso and Mousse Van Gogh. I finally settled upon a Mousse Picasso and savoured every bite of the white and dark chocolate layered mousse. Mmm, perfection!
Slightly on the pricey side, youre looking at an average of $7.00 if eating in or $9.00 if youre looking to indulge in your treat elsewhere. La Renaissance also offers options for the savoury lovers, such as pies, quiches and baguettes. So next time youre in The Rocks, make sure you check it out!
I had the most amazing time at Vivaz on the weekend! Went there with a large group of friends from about 9pm until well after midnight and the atmosphere was electric! Make sure you have you $15 entry fee if you're there after 8:30pm though.
The music played by the band was fantastic and the DJ did a great job of keeping the dancers going while the band took breaks. The drinks are reasonably priced for a city venue ($6 Sangrias anyone?) and while I had blisters on my feet, it was definitely worth it. Highly recommended!

I recently visited this restaurant for dinner, so unfortunately the yum cha option wasn't available. :( But the service was lovely, with a waiter even coming around our table to put pretty covers over coats on the back of our chairs! Haven't been to a restaurant that has done that before. The food was lovely and not too greasy. The only complaint would be the loud karoke singing that made it a bit difficult to hear each other.
