King of Cakes have the best selection of European baked goods in Brisbane! From black forest cake to pretzels and jam doughnuts... it's all made locally and tastes amazing!

Although the food is good (and coffee is ok), the service at Ned's leaves a lot to be desired when they're busy on Sunday mornings...

Prince Court Chinese Restaurant is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Brisbane. The staff are always friendly and the food is great! Be sure to try the deep fried icecream with caramel sauce!

The team at the Barber Shop in Fairfield Gardens provide a quick and friendly service for blokes - no bookings required!

Zum Kaiser Restaurant in the Brisbane German Club provides a great selection of traditional german meals for under $20. Be sure to book ahead on friday and saturday nights to secure a table in the restaurant, otherwise you can generally turn-up and get a seat in the restaurant.

If you're after a quieter night, be sure to avoid AFL game days, as the place gets very busy.

Budget are one of the very few car/ute/truck rental companies that are open 7 days a week in the south Brisbane area (most are closes from midday Saturday). Their rates are usually one of the best around with ute rentals from around $50/day depending on availability. Their fleet is fairly new and well maintained - it makes renting a ute/car a great value option for DIY moving.

White Lotus is a recently opened boutique bar in the new Melbourne Hotel building in West End. The bar has a luxurious vibe with deep leather lounges and an asian style of elegance.

The fantastic cocktail menu starts at $14 and provide something for everyone as well as a great selection of beers on tap. The mouth-watering tapas menu has an excellent variety including fresh seafood dishes with an asian twist.

The team at Greencross Vets at the gabba provide excellent service and also stock a good selection of quality pet food (including Hills Science Diet) and accessories. They also have a hydrobath on-site and will trim claws (which is great when you have a dog like ours!).

Greencross Vets are open 7 days, however they do charge extra for for consultations on Sundays and after-hours.

I've been a member of QLD Country Health for over 10 years and their extras cover is second to none. They provide subsidised accommodation in Brisbane & Townsville for members that require treatment away from home. Queensland Country Health was also recently awarded the most 'Outstanding Value' health cover by CANSTAR CANNEX health insurance ratings.

Dr Chou at Radiance Dental would have to be one of the best dentists I've seen. Although his fees are higher than what most health fund rebates will cover, he is one of the few dentists that takes the time to thoroughly explain the procedures - which is great for those who dislike dentists! They open on Saturdays (alternating weeks only) and are also open late on Thursday nights.
