I had an early dinner here with 2 friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I was a little hesitant in going there as I'd heard horror stories from friends, but was pleasantly surprised. The decor appeared to have been updated since I was last there 12 months ago, and our waiter was attentive without being overbearing.
I had the spaghetti gamberi which was delicious, as was the garlic bread. Overall we were happy with the service and the food and I wouldn't hesitate going back to try it again.

We accidentally stumbled across The Tea Salon while we were shopping yesterday. What a fabulous accident! The plan was to just have a cup of tea and maybe a scone, but after seeing the high tea platter delivered to the table next to us we had to have the whole high tea experience! The sandwiches were delicious and fresh, the selection of sweets was fabulous and then it was all topped off with our choice of a scone and tea. I chose a lavender scone which was like nothing I've ever had before. It was served with fresh thickened cream and the choice of 2 types of jam. The tea selection was extensive and it was served in gorgeous tea pots and cups and saucers. Even the plates were lovely. Needless to say we walked out feeling very full and very content! Next time we're going to try a glass of pink Moet as well! A really lovely little find in the heart of the city. We'll be back!

We've eaten a few times at the surf club over the years. You certainly can't beat the location and there's nothing like sitting on the balcony in the warmer months and watching the surfers and even dolphins playing in the waves. The food is basic surf club food, but always quite edible and at a good price. The locals are welcoming and it can be easy to sit here for hours.

We had a group of 20 in the private dining room, which was perfect for the special occasion. We did have to get our food selection in prior to the night (we chose the $50 per person 3 course menu), which can be a bit hard as you don't really know what you're going to want to eat a week in advance. But, it ended up being a nice surprise on the night!
The 2 waiters looked after us beautifully and the food wasn't too bad. I wouldn't rave about it, but it was quite nice and not bad value for money. It is a BYO restaurant which keeps the price down, and the staff were attentive and happy to accommodate special requests.
The ambience of the room was lovely and it's nice and handy to parking (in the Ritz Theatre across the road) and public transport. I would like to go back with a smaller group or just the 2 of us to see what it would be like.

I have to admit I have only ever ordered a takeaway laksa from this shop, but they are always quick, have a good lunch deal on with a free bottle of drink thrown in and the staff are always obliging with my special requests. There are always quite a few people eating in there, which is a good sign.

We have stayed at the PVH 5 times and have never been disappointed. It definitely isn't cheap to stay here, but nothing about a skiing holiday is ever cheap! The beauty of the PVH is that you can ski in/ski out. The location is the best on the mountain, sitting at the bottom of Front Valley. The Perisher Centre is underneath the hotel so there are shops, food outlets, bars etc at your doorstep..... as well as the kids ski school.
The food at the PVH is the best on the mountain and they have a great wine list. There is nothing like coming back from a day on the mountain and having a cocktail on the lounge in front of the open fire.
The rooms have been refurbed in the last couple of years, and although there is still a lot of wood panelling, they are very comfortable. The hotel also has an in-house masseuse, a spa and a sauna. There is also a kids club during the school holidays. The staff remember us from one year to the next and there's a real community feel about the place.
Like I said, not a cheap place to stay, but it's worth the extra money just for the location alone.

Darcy's is the sort of restaurant you go to for a special occasion. It has a lovely ambience, great menu and wine list and excellent service. The food was to die for, and the staff were very attentive. It's tucked away in amongst the terraces at Paddington, so off the main roads and noisy traffic. We will definitely be back.

I've eaten lunch here a few times in the last year or so and each time the food has been excellent. The balcony upstairs is a great spot on a nice day, and it's even lovely if the weather isn't perfect as they have clear plastic blinds to keep the elements out and you can still enjoy the view. They currently have a great 2 course lunch special, and I get the feeling not too many people know about it as it's rarely busy. A really nice spot with good food and good wine. The service wasn't bad either. The only negative would have to be the parking, but that's what you get for being at Bondi Beach!

We visited the track on a Saturday recently with our kids. They'd never been in a go-kart before and were very excited. As they're only 8 they were only able to go on one track, but that didn't seem to bother them. As soon as they got off, they were straight back in the line to go out again! There were also some other kids rides and games, so we ended up staying for a few hours. My husband went on the medium sized track as the large track was booked out. If we go up again we will definitely book ahead as the large track looked amazing! There were a few groups having parties and everyone looked like they were having a good time. The only disappointment was some staff hadn't turned up and the wait for food at the cafe was very long, and they managed to completely stuff up our order. But when they realised their mistake they went out of their way to rectify it and offered us free food. Our boys can't wait to go back next time we're in Queensland.
