I enjoy being out and about, nature and taking as many holidays as possible. I love shopping and grabbing a good bargain, sipping a good latte and generally being on the move. I love having the opportunity to review all my favourite businesses and the few not so nice, and hope that my reviews are useful to other people.

A unique little piece of Opal history tucked away from Pitt Street. Showcasing an epic collection of Opal jewellery mixed with a twist of history showcased in the museum lit dinosaur displays. Friendly staff although a very quiet place so would really recommend only for those who love opals or are just intrigued to take the escalator up for something different.
For a late night snack or an after work greasy kebab after just because you have had a bad day & can't face cooking, why not grab a kebab. Choose from chicken, beef or falafel. - toasted pide or a burger with the lot. Prices are fairly reasonable for a city venue although $2.50 for extra meat is a bit hefty guys. Open late :)
For a local pizzeria Crust is not bad particularly in that the menu is not limited to your traditional pizzas. Lighter crusts and calzones are an awesome addition. Wait times are a little long if you don't order ahead but otherwise can't complain about made to order fresh pizzas.
Great location opposite the beach for a casual dinner. Reasonable prices for the large portion menu items but be prepared to wait if they are busy. Not the best italian I have ever had but ok if in the area.
Nothing beats a good old fashioned buffet and Ashfield RSL delivers. A range of seafood, mains, a salad and soup bar and delightful selection of sweets are on offer in an all you can feast. Staff are efficient and regularly replace dishes when required. Reasonable prices including drinks and a nice, casual atmosphere tick the boxes for me
The Lucky Charm is my work local newsagent with its prime location in the heart of the CBD and a prime location within Westfields itself. Not only do they supply a great range of magazines, cards, small gift items and lottery but the staff are very friendly and genuine.
Fantastic location for an after work bite to eat or drinks or a hotel to select as your plan b for a night out in the City. Chic layout of the lobby and restaurants and modern facilities. A member of the Starwoods chain The ultimate winner for us was the buffet with an amazing selection of seafood and enough sweets to really indulge but for an after work drink the Conservatory Bar is highly recommended. Friendly staff, warm atmosphere and great food.
Whether visiting Sydney or a resident the beautiful aquatic sea life currently residing at Sydney Aquarium is simply beautiful. As a Sydney resident I still find the underwater viewing tunnels to be the highlight where you can walk through at your own pace and watch as sharks, dugongs, turtles, Nemo's mates and a variety of sea life swim above your head. The downside unfortunately is the price which for a large family can be completely out of the budget.
Loving the on trend "whites" and "nauticals" offered this season by Wanted. The prices are fairly reasonable but even better when there is a sale ;) Plenty of range, styles and sizes from high heels to boots, ballet flats to sandals but you do pay a price for this as lunchtimes and Thursday nights are madness. Very crowded and hard to make a proper decision so I would have to agree that if you have the chance venture out during the quieter times.
Well worth the trip to Crossroads for the High Tea with is particularly perfect for a casual baby shower, kitchen tea or just because catch up. From the minute you walk in the entrance of the Swissotel right up to Crossroads on Level 8, the service is impeccable. There was plenty of variety in the petit fours, sandwiches and sweets (shared between 2) and all accompanied with a glass of sparkling and what feels like a lead weight cast iron kettle of tea. The price is around the same as other venues (although keep an eye out for the deals which work out to be great value for groups of 4). Fantastic service and very friendly staff.
Crossroads Bar itself is a great venue if you are looking for somewhere with a nice City view, not too crowded and pretty casual for a drink after work.
Nulla Nulla Caf has been a family favourite for many years now although our trips down are not as regular as they used to be. As a kid I would be straight in to ordering a creaming soda spider and a schnitzel and chips but as an adult I have classed up a little lol (a glass of white and shared pizza and a coffee and chat to finish). Great casual dining for a light hearted meal after a day at the beach or for a reasonably priced casual dinner on a warm Summer's night. Service has always been fantastic and the staff friendly. Great location in the heart of the shops and close to all transport, parking, nightlife and the beach
For our wedding reception we prepaid a number of spots with the The Rocks Secure Parking Team to ensure our guests' vehicles were secure, parking was readily available on arrival and to eliminate any headaches driving around the back lanes of the Rocks on a Saturday night trying to find a parking spot. The customer service team were fantastic in organising this for us and ensure all our guests were given proper directions and first class treatment on arrival and departure. Thank you so much :)
Hundreds of rangers all over the City Suburbs fining people left, right and centre but if you call to ask them to do something - forget it! I recently made a submission to the Council Helpline to ask the assistance of Rangers to move a couple of backpacker vans along that were not only parked in a no stopping zone but blocking the only access we have to put our building's bins out for collection. No help whatsoever. Advised that I would need to send through a photo of the no stopping sign to prove they were parked illegally. I'm sorry, isn't that what the hundreds of rangers employed by your office are paid to do. So frustrating, particularly as no doubt I would be fined if I parked my car all day and night in these spots.
The David Jones Food Hall as a whole is a fabulous array of gourmet delights and fantastic time pass, but if you are after a casual sit down lunch with a friend check out the menu for Grill Bar. The seating is designed in a half circle whereby customers can watch as professional chefs grill their steak to medium rare perfection or lamb shanks served up on a bed of fluffy mashed potato accompanied with a glass of white. Great for a once in a while treat or catch up with a friend but the only downfall is there is limited seating so there is little encouragement to hang around for a chat and more eat and go. Best to pop by around the 12pm lunch timeslot to secure a seat.
What more could you ask for than a day of pampering. Treating my mum and I to a girl's day at the spa I booked us in for a Hydrotherapy spa, massage and hair makeover. Well worth the $$. The service was superb and we left feeling every little bit relaxed and pampered as you should. Highly recommend, particularly as a mother/daughter treat or pre-wedding day treat for your bridesmaids
Baku offers the best in antique and vintage design jewellery.Mostly silver and decorative pieces with bold stones, the range is perfect for selecting that timeless and unique piece. A recent mission to find a farewell gift for a departing work colleague led me to the small shop in the QVB where I was met by knowledgeable and friendly staff that went that extra mile to help me select the appropriate gift set for my friend's style. beautifully gift wrapped and ready to go. They also stock a small range of on trend handbags ;)
Good location, boutique prices (although very affordable at sales time) and great gift ideas.
I have been particularly fond of the Diana Ferrari range for quite some time but always love to get pieces at an affordable price. Robina Clearance Store offers just that. The markdowns are good on items that you actually want not just rubbish that didn't sell in the main stream stores. Lovely shoes and availability in size 9 - hallelujah! Work attire to suit most shapes and sizes and friendly staff who happily give you space to browse or are on hand to offer assistance . Neat location in the hub of Robina Town Centre which also offers plenty of parking.
Dymocks Stationery truly is a wonderful offering of old school charm and pretty items. The range of cards are quite astounding covering most of life's milestones in one place. Pretty pastels, corporate bounds and childhood icons are featured on diaries, notebooks and stationery equipment which will put a smile on any little one (or that certain big kids' dial). There is a separate counter where you can speak with a qualified staff member about their selection of pen gift sets and plenty of arty crafty bits and pieces for that long awaited scrapbooking project or DIY wedding invitations. The staff are very friendly and an added bonus is Dymocks Bookstore is linked internally to the stationer section so you wander freely through and pick up a new book and diary for 2014 at the same time.
In its tight light underground spot if you are not familiar with the CBD you could easily miss it. With a layout spanning over 2 levels the range of sporting equipment, clothing and memorabilia is quite extensive. There are regular sales throughout the year including 2 for $50 or buy one get one free offers and clearance racks where you can usually bag yourself a bargain. Great range of brands and sizes and plenty of gift ideas for the sports fanatic in your life.
