I came here for a few drinks and some food for a casual night out. They are famous for their cheap steaks on Mondays and they still have a $5 steak on Mondays. So worthwhile if you are on a budget and want a night out.
The customer service is highly attentive and very accommodating and the food is absolutely incredible. The location is very relaxed and the place has a great vibe. Definitely order the order poached eggs on toast because they cook the eggs perfectly !!! The coffee here is Little Marionette.
Stopped by for brunch on a Sunday. Place had a few tables spare. Indoor and outdoor seating. Their coffee art is pretty impressive! You wont get anything like it in Sydney thanks to their talented barista Chai.
The lovely Chris told us to leave it to him and he would bring out some dishes.
Highlight dishes were:
-Smashed avocado, haloumi, roasted tomato, poached eggs, rocket on sourdough
- Spelt pancakes with banana fritters cooked in coconut oil and coyo
- Slow cooked lamb sholder with creme potato and red cabbage
- Kale, quiona feta, chicken, avoado
- Parsley sorbet on top of creamy base with meringue mushrooms and citrus curd (this dish will wow you pants off - tastes like splice!)
Creative dishes with great customer service. This place is one to visit if you are in the area!
I've been here so many times, I've lost count. The service is always professional & friendly - but not too familiar. And the food is consistently good. Portion sizes are generous, prices reasonable, and the vibe is lively.
The staff have never been anything other than helpful with trying to find a spot quickly for 1 or 10 people. The place is popular, and rightly so. Plan for a wait by having a drink down the road at their bar called Fico (it's deliberately not well signed on the outside of the building - but the staff will helpfully, point you in the right direction). Then afterwards, enjoy your Italian pasta delights. Their desserts are a winner too. Simple, and flavoursome.
Tio's is a nice place for a cocktail and a drink. It's got a unique atmosphere with random bras hanging everywhere across the bar. You also get complimentary popcorn (smart idea, to get you more thirsty) but it's a nice snack to have along with a few drinks. It's a bit hipster and casual.
One of my favourite Sydney restaurants. The staff are amazing, attentive, skilled and friendly - without being in the way. I've been many times now with different people, and everyone's always enjoyed it. It feels like I could come here forever and never get tired of it.
Every Din Tai Fung I go to are consistently on point. I've never been to one that I've had a problem with. Their food is crazy tasty and comes at a very reasonable price. Each restaurant is on theme with the decor and the service is extremely efficient. This place remains my favourite place for Chinese.
Something about this place really creeped me out...not sure if it was the vibe or because it was so gloomy in a bad way. Super overpriced cocktails and drinks, feels a little try hard with the whole 30s feel....
Sometimes when you have had dinner in Darlinghurst Rd you want to go to a bar that takes you away from the busy crowds of the local pubs. Eau de Vie is the perfect location to have a relaxing cocktail in a beautiful environment that has a beautiful atmosphere. Friday and Saturday are busy and can mean that you will need to wait a while for a cocktail but you won't be disappointed.
I love everything about this place! Their decor is spot on with the American diner feels, with all the bartenders dressed in matching outfits. Their cocktail list is incredible and their popcorn.....to die for.
Love the theme of this bar. You feel like you've stepped into a 50s American themed kitchen. Like the kitsch pineapple lamp on the bar, and the cocktails are always so unusual and menu changes frequently you'll keep going back for more.
It is very hard to miss this place during your walk along the popular Crown St. In the midst of the street field with business, Pieno offers a luscious and beautiful garden-like spacious outdoor atmosphere. It has plenty of seats, both indoor and outdoor, although they do get pretty busy most of the time.
My last visit was during a spring afternoon, and sitting outside might be proven quite problematic as the pollens would constantly fly onto your table, and eventually your dish and drinks.
I had their veggie big breakfast option from their all day breakfast & all day lunch menu. It consists of two eggs with sauteed mushroom & spinach, roasted tomato, potato rosti, tomato chutney and toast. The price was a little premium than its neighbouring shops, but it had beautiful poached eggs and clean elements across the dish with a main punch of spicy tomato chutney.
The staff was quite attentive at the time (which was not particularly busy) and the food comes in just a matter of minutes!
Baxter's is one of my favorite bars in Sydney. They have a huge range of whiskys, they use fresh juice for mixed drinks and the service is amazing. The staff are so friendly and accomodating, you really feel like you're at home. The atmosphere is out of this world, or out of this time, should I say! 1930's prohibition era speakeasy with all the blues greats playing in the background. This place is so on theme, it's unbelievable. Any there's free pretzels!
