Had such a mediocre experience at Pancakes tonight. It's been years since I've dined here and my, has their standards dropped. Like the below reviewer, I ordered the Chicken & Mushroom 'crepe'. It was so light on chicken it should have just been called a chicken & mushy mushroom flavoured crepe - and the sauce was so thick and heavy. For some reason it was served with a scoop of sour cream (which wasn't too bad) and marinara sauce...which was strange, to say the least. I didn't dare touching the salad because it looked like it was a mix of unwashed leaves and dead things. It was pretty horrible actually. Lastly, service was pretty all over the shop. They knew which mains to give us but kept bring us other customers' drink and dessert orders. So annoying that they were confused and then made it seem like it was our fault! For soggy, bland crepes I would not bother going back to this place.
One of the best places I've had Green Curry from, and I always manage to get there just before they shut, in time for closing bargains. While it's not a huge restaurant and seating is tight, this tiny spot always dishes up quality meals with a smile. Love it.
As I stood in the line today, I watched as a staff served customers without a word, simply raising eyebrows at them and making a high pitched grunting sound. Amused, I thought I'd smile and ask how the staff's day was going. However, I was served by another staff who took both my consignment details and gave them to another staff to find, and then pointed for me to wait out of the line. Meanwhile customers were lining up to pick up other items before the store shut and I exchanged pleasantries with a few of the locals, discussing Christmas mayhem and plans. After about 10 minutes, out came my packages, two of which were small and one that was about 60cm x 10cm x 20cm with a HUGE, red "Fragile" sticker on its front. Well, the staff dropped the box, smack into the carpet. "It's okay," staff said "it's only carpet." When I asked the other staff whether they'd help carry it to the car, they looked at me like I'd slapped them. "Organise it yourself. Or get husband to help" Was the response I received. What if I'd been a single mum? Meanwhile, here I was, 8 months pregnant just asking for it to be carried 5 meters from the store front. I could not believe how rude they were. Luckily for me, one of the older male customers I'd been pleasant to offered to help and walked it out of the store - all of 30 seconds. When I got home I realised it wasn't actually that heavy, but I would have had to make 2 trips anyway and hubby was there to help. Later on after opening the package, I discovered one of the items broken (maybe from the fall?) and that they had only given me the third of the three boxes allocated for the shipment. So they still had 2 more boxes to that order, floating around in the poorly disorganised 'store' room. I was ropable. Will have to go back tomorrow morning to argue my case and explain to the management that they still has two of my packages left. If that doesn't work I will be contact Australia Post to complain about the poor service, underage employer and unprofessionalism of this agency. It's a pity I cannot choose where I pick up items from, because if I could I would NOT being going back here.
