I had numerous issues with Tyrrells which include being misinformed, being provided an inadequate and incomplete service (compared to other providers) and lastly, paying $200 more in comparison for this level of poor service.
I had been misinformed that the report would include measurements (they apologized and are now amending their sample report, which I had been sent, to avoid confusion).
Out of curiosity, I checked with other companies, measurements are in fact a separate service however, others include photos of all findings along with an inspection of the garage/storage for approximately $300.
I was charged $520 for a service which did not cover this (note that their prices fluctuate also - I was quoted $650 when it came time to do the inspection but they honoured their initial quote of $520 from an email sent a few months earlier). The lack of photos was an issue; I had expected photos to be taken, knowing that it wouldn't take much time also. In order to fully understand the findings and to ensure that everything would be covered when communicating the defects to the contractors, I needed to spend time going through the full inspection process myself to take photos of everything.
I have spent unnecessary time on this and for a comprehensive check at a much lower cost, I highly recommend engaging another company to help with your inspection.
Mark Irvine of Tyrrells has impressed the socks off of me. We have just recently purchase a house up in Warriewood in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Mark conducted the initial inspection and told us that there was a potential issue with damp and termites but that he was unable to gain access to the sub floor of the house. After a talking to the real estate agent they discovered a 'manhole' in the floorboards and Mark dutifully went back. He then told us that the underneath of the house was seriously damp and went through all the options with me as to how to deal with it. However, he could only see a quarter of the area and couldn't be 100% certain there wasn't more serious problems elsewhere e.g. termites. After another discussion with the agent another manhole was discovered in the floorboards. We are now up to 4pm and Mark is about to clock off and go on holiday for five weeks. I rang him again, maybe i shouldn't have but I did, and asked if there was someone else in the office who could 'look into it' for us. So despite having one foot metaphorically out of the door he went back for a third time. When he rang back he was happy to report no serious concerns. He didn't have to go back once let alone twice and I doubt if many of us his situation would have done. The guy is a true professional, a credit to his employer and proof that you can get great service if you get the right people.
Nearly 1 hour trip to Strathfield to have a traditional pork stew at this place. I have to admit, it was worth it. Traditional pork stew is one of the rarest dishes that you could find in Sydney. And this place offers that dish. My wife found Stra HJK(Haejangkuk), where happens to be the best one among all those few places that offer the dish.
We ordered about four dishes, of course including the pork stews. I have to say they were all excellent. Although it wasn't exactly the traditional pork stew that we were expecting. It was different. (Traditional Pork Stew is just supposed to have clear whitish stew with good chunks of pork slices.). Although it was delicious even it was a different version.
The service was good as well, staff was kind, maybe kinder than all the Korean restaurants that I have been. Prices were excellent as well, and good balance between quality and quantity.
Please keep in mind that this place is in the heart of Korean town, Strathfield. You will likely be surrounded by Koreans when you dine here. And that's not a bad thing. If you'd like to experience proper national dishes, you have to put yourself where they live and dine anyway. So don't mind surroundings, just enjoy food and drinks.
We all know Bibimbap, Bulgoggi, and few other popular Korean dishes. But I have to say they are nothing comparing to other thousand Korean dishes you might haven't tried yet. I believe the traditional pork stew could be a good start to try, also pork noodle sausages, LA ribs (It's NOT from Los Angeles, it's just a nickname.), etc.
Try something that you haven't tried before. Life is too short to keep eating same dishes over and over.
If you're looking for a quick tasty meal, this is the place. The Main dish that took it to popularity is the hot spicey pork soup. It is large bone pork in hot soup and it's a popular korean dish. The price is also very good.
There are so many wonderful items to buy from Knickknack Cafe and if you are vegetarian or vegan they have something for you. Recently I have been having the Chicken Curry every day for lunch. OMG so good, this has been replaced with a Beef Curry, haven't tried that yet. I did have the soup today for lunch and it was delicious. Knickknack Cafe also have really yummy sweet treats the choc and peanut slice is addictive. Do yourself a flavor and grab some lunch or a coffee and cake from here! Oh also the spinach pastry.... i could go on and on.
Went to knickknack cafe today after hearing rave reviews from work colleagues .. I ordered an avocado toast on multigrain bread and was surprised that it is priced at $9 (pretty high I feel for a toast) . The serving size was huge though with lots of avocado spread and nuts and olive oil but do I really want such a big portion for breakfast .
Not impressed at my first experience but may be will try their coffees and spinach pastry that has been rated well here .
The appointment is never on time. Waited more than an hour before the doctor came to get me..that got me even more sick waiting. The doctor is really unprofessional and says things that are really obvious. Really disappointed. The receptionists were friendly though.
Fantastic, the Village doctor is friendly, fast and isn't all sterilised stainless steel like normal practices. It has colour and life seeping out of every wall but still manages to appear professional and highly-maintenenced. Itt has friendly staff, experienced doctors and friendly smiles. It is the cleanest practice i have ever seen. I could run around with a vaccum and not pick up a speck of dust. I place 100% of my trust in the Village Doctor Medical centre and i always urge others to do the same.
As we walked into the shop, glitter filled the air, sparkles edible glitter... It was a fitting welcome to this magical cupcakery. Maple, red velvet, chocolate and vanilla, it is pretty difficult making decisions in this shop. They were holding a fun cake pop making class while we were in there and the group of 12 looked like they were having lots of fun.
We booked at Pool Suite and it was stunning - on 2nd floor overlooking the large pool. The suite design is spacious (used to be two rooms years back) and beautifully appointed. I'm not a fan of having exposed bathrooms in the bedroom but it worked ok as the shower and toilet are separate, with the basins, walk-through wardrobe, two basins and large bath an extension of the bedroom. The suit has two tv's, a smaller one in the bedroom and larger in the living space. The living space has a lounge area as well as small round dining table, chairs and small fridge. Both rooms have large sliding doors and outdoor furniture with electric awnings to protect you from the sun. The bed is four-poster and whilst it looks very luxurious I found it too soft and whilst not impossible to sleep on I did experience a stiff back each morning. In terms of room quality this suite is top notch and compares favorably with other rooms and suites we've experienced at five star resorts around the world.
We were lucky enough to arrive the day prior to Aquazure opening, Hayman's new second pool and restaurant. It's located towards the other end of the property just outside the Lagoon Rooms. It's just beautiful with an infinity pool, large day beds and lounges and a very cool restaurant. It's promoted as the ideal location for families and kids but to be honest I was wishing it was kid free.
The original pool at Hayman is still spectacular - and I'd highly recommend if your budget permits opting for a suite overlooking it. Even better, get one on the 1st floor so you can walk out the front straight into the pool.
We had a great long weekend at Hayman even though a couple of the restaurants are average for what you pay. Recommended.
Came across this place a few years ago and have been casually coming here ever since (would come more often but depending on time of day parking can be very tricky). Fantastic international selection with wonderful variety of hard to get imports. Knowledgable non intrusive staff. Just purchased a very special drop :)
A work colleague recommended this bottle shop and I was really impressed with the range. I walk past here almost everyday and have never noticed how big this bottle shop is. There is something here for everyone. The international range of red wines is great. The guys here are really friendly and helpful too.
Wow! Presentation wise and taste = excellent. Staff were very attentive and patient as we were also paying with the new Clipp app. The place is very spacious and takes you away as soon as you enter. We got the dessert platter to finish and it was nothing short of spectacular!
Amazing food and very attentive customer service. The space is large and they have these big round tables at the back which are great for groups. I highly recommend the steak tartare and the organic chicken.
