Although starting your own business isn’t the easiest thing to do, it’s been well worth it for Dan. In addition to working in an amazing area with stunning beaches, he gets the chance to really connect with his customers – something that he loves.

It’s the way he has of going that extra mile that makes Dan really stand out. In an age where many of us will stand by the front door waiting for the plumber to arrive in that three-hour window they told us to be home, Dan always makes sure to turn up on time. And if he’s been held up, he’ll call you. It’s as simple as that.

What’s the story behind 2P Plumbing?

The whole idea behind 2P Plumbing is to be a prompt, professional plumbing service – hence the 2P. We are a local plumbing service owned and operated by a fully qualified plumber and gasfitter, and we service the Sunshine Coast area.

What do you love the most having a local business in the Sunshine Coast?

There is no better place to have a small business than on the Sunshine Coast. The people are friendly and relaxed, the weather and beaches are fantastic, and it’s just a great lifestyle. Being a local business means we can provide an excellent service to clients in the area, and we can actually get to know our repeat customers.

What made you want to start your own small business?

After working for other companies and travelling a lot with work, I wanted to base myself on the coast and not travel away all the time. So I decided to take the leap and went into business for myself, to build something I can be proud of.

How do you go above and beyond to create an awesome experience for your customers?

2P Plumbing always provides the best reliable service in a timely manner. As well as being friendly and professional, we aim to always leave the customer happy.

Do you have any advice for other small businesses that are starting up?

Being on time is very important. If you are held up on another job, call the customer and let them know.

How important do you think it is for a local business to have an online presence on websites like True Local where customers can share their experience?

It is very important for customers to be able to log onto a site like True Local and share their experience.  

One of the five-star reviews on your listing says “Great prompt service on what we thought was leaking roof after recent heavy rain. Dan quickly found the problem to be a leaking fitting in the wall & had it fixed in no time. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needs a great, honest plumber.” How valuable have you found online reviews and feedback to you as a local business?

I have had customers tell me that they always look at the reviews when deciding who they will call, and I always take notice of what the customer says.

What advice do you have for other local businesses who might want to increase their online reviews on platforms like True Local?

Encourage customers to “spread the word” by leaving a review, as it is an important resource for potential customers.

What is your favourite local business in the Sunshine Coast area?

The coffee at The Velo Project in Mooloolaba is fantastic.

Lastly for a bit of fun – what’s one quirky fact about 2P Plumbing people might not know? 

 I’ve had people who have walked past the truck with the 2P Plumbing signs on it, then walked back to say “I got it, it’s to pee or not to pee”. It doesn’t mean that, but they got a good laugh out of it!
