Mums are the best, aren’t they? They deserve so much more than a single day of appreciation, but we can at least make sure it’s a good one. Here are loveliest breakfast and brunch spots in town!
You’ll find few venues in Adelaide as well named as Mister Sunshine. It really is just a sunny, sunny place, regardless of the weather. It’s warm, friendly and totally relaxed, with an arty interior that forms the perfect setting for a happy breakfast to celebrate how awesome your mum is. We’d highly recommend the smashed avocado, served with field mushrooms and spiced nuts.

Whipped Baked Bar Cafe is an awesome café that seats nearly a hundred people, so never have to worry about getting a table here. It’s also just a stone’s throw from Semaphore Beach, so you can take Mum on a lovely seaside stroll after brekkie. You might just need it if you order up the buttermilk pancakes, which come complete with rhubarb & apple compote, mascarpone cream, toasted nuts and shredded coconut.
“This place is worth the 40 minute drive to get to it. The food is of high quality and extremely tasty. You can tell the produce is fresh and local. One of the best cafes that I have experienced in a long time. Highly recommended. Just avoid peak times as it is hard to get a table” – Local Adelaide
If you feel in the mood for a bit of Italian indulgence this Mother’s Day, look no further than the suave and richly decorated Modinetti. It’s a traditional family-run joint, priding itself on cosiness and comfort food. Go for the traditional sugo, which is oven-baked poached eggs in a delectable tomato, chilli and garlic sauce, served with fresh crusty bread. There’s nothing better on a chilly Sunday morning, and Mum’s sure to love it.
“Awesome authentic food plus friendly staff that are always happy to have a chat. One of the best eateries in Torrensville!” – Michael Walkden
Perched on Henley Beach, 303 By the Sea is another great starting point for a walk along the sands. You’ll never hear a bad word said about this ocean-themed cafe, and it’s famed for its tasty grub and good, old-fashioned notions of hospitality. For a wholesome breakfast, get the spiced baked porridge. It’s made with sultanas, cinnamon, pear, nutmeg, and a gorgeous persimmon-spiced rum compote.
