With so many awesome new restaurants popping up in Adelaide lately, it can be hard to know where to head first. Don’t worry though; we’ve got your back. Here are our picks of the best new foodie openings in Adelaide – so grab a fork and get stuck in.
Chicco Palms only exploded onto the Adelaide pizza scene a month ago, but it’s already become a favourite amongst its Brooklyn park regulars. And it’s no secret as to why. Mixing top-quality ingredients with a breezy, carefree attitude, this pizza joint is the perfect spot for a chill date or a catch-up with friends. It serves some seriously good pizza, and we’d suggest you start with the margherita (tomato, fior de latte and basil) and make your way through the menu from there.
This one is highly anticipated, and for good reason. It’s part of the multi-million-dollar renovation of the iconic Mount Lofty House, including stunning décor, a state-of-the-art kitchen, multiple dining areas, and an all-star team of chefs. It’ll be open to the public from the 23rd of February, so make a reservation as soon as you can to experience the world-class tasting menus.
The exotic flavours of the Iberian Peninsula are coming to Adelaide this month, and we couldn’t be more excited! Everything from the Spanish crab omelette to the beef cheek looks incredible, with a special shout out for the 36-month-aged ‘Jamón Iberico’ (cured pork from the black pig). There’s not long to wait, as Iberia is set to open any day now and is taking bookings now for the 1st of March onwards. See you there!
This one first appeared back in September, so it’s had a few months to wow the crowd. Still, we’ve decided that not enough people know about it yet – and it’s just too good to miss out on! Pink Moon Deli is pure sandwich paradise, crammed into a lovely little shopfront just a few doors down from its parent venue, Pink Moon Saloon. The deli is the perfect lunch option, with loads of different sangas and snacks to choose from. Of course, we can’t go past the Brisket Sandwich – one bite and you’ll be hooked for life.
Proudly named after everyone’s favourite sins (gluttony and greed, to be precise), 2nd & 6th lets you drop your inhibitions and pig out like there’s no tomorrow. It’s been a roaring success since its November launch, and sublime dishes like the Moroccan Duck Breast (with five spices and seasonal veg) are precisely why. It’s a palace of fine food and drink, so make a booking today and be prepared to eat like a king.
“I haven’t eaten here but came for a drink. very pleasant atmosphere – I love the benches out the front so that you can drink and people watch at the same time. Good selection of spirits, small but good selection of wines and very proudly supporting Prancing Pony with their entire range of beers.” – 4chillis
