Does your job give you a lot of time at home? Are you one of those “stew-dents” we’ve heard so much about? Could you use a change of scenery while you work and/or study? Say no more, fam!
Long-time readers (you know who you are) will know we’re big fans of Unley’s own Pickle in the Middle, and not just because of the house-made brunch cocktails. It’s a bright, unfailingly cheery place to work in, and the all-day brekkie means you’ll never be low on fuel. Try the black sesame waffles with spicy mascarpone, yoghurt, pistachios, salted sugar syrup and fresh orange slices.
“What a beautiful little unique cafe. It is that “something” when it comes to you wanting that “something different” The staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was pretty delish!! Can’t be more in love with all the preserved pickles and jalapeños and other assorted goodies! Totally yum!” – TheMiddleIngredient
Sad Cafe has many things going for it, not least its free Wi-Fi and super-convenient city centre location. The interior is all oakey tables and slick, minimalist design, and the food is just fantastic. Distractingly so, in fact, but you can always get on with stuff after you’ve finished your French toast crumpets. Whipped espresso butter, burnt maple, fresh berries… hoo boy. We’re all a-flutter.

Ah, the enigmatic Mister Sunshine! This gorgeous little spot is a haven for the kitsch and the quirky, and boasts the kind of snuggly atmosphere you just can’t force unless you really know what you’re doing. There’s tons of street parking, and make sure you taste the Moroccan spiced chickpeas over blanched spinach and ciabatta. It comes with poached egg or avocado, so everyone’s a winner.

Look lively, people! We got another free Wi-Fi alert! Of course, Bar 9 is just as famous for its legendary coffee, and practically every South Australian barista champion (yes, that’s a thing) has worked here at some point. This is truly top-grade caffeine, and just what you need to get that big project over the line. If you get peckish, go for the Croque Madame with cheese, béchamel and ham.
“Breakfast, brunch or coffee, Bar 9 would have to be the best. Even though this Cafe is very busy, the service is excellent, the staff are very obliging and friendly. Bacon and scrambled eggs, the meal was well-prepared, with very little delay. While we enjoyed a very smooth coffee, we read the papers that are provided and I did this review on their free Wi-Fi.” – Trev Scott
