Sydney Korean Festival

Date: 2 April
Location: Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour

From K-Pop to Kimchi and everything in between, Korean culture has brought so many awesome things to Australia. This April at Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour, Sydneysiders will get the chance to celebrate everything there is to love about Korea with a full day of festivities. See and hear the beautiful history of Korea through song, smell and taste delicious Korean cuisine, and immerse yourself in the many cultural activities on offer around the park. To top it all off, the festival will end with a massive 2.5 hour K-Pop World Festival that’ll have you on your feet faster than you can say ‘Gangnam Style’. Find out more


Pop Up Fall Market

Location: 107 Projects, 107 Redfern Street, Redfern

Cool vintage bits and bobs, thingymajigs and whatsits are the name of the game at the Pop Up Fall Market. Think one-of-a-kind jewellery, homewares, prints and more that you won’t find in a shopping centre or chain store. In fact, Pop Up Fall Market is curated by Dear Pluto, a community group focussed on supporting local businesses, and that’s definitely a cause we here at True Local can get behind! Some of you might remember reading our article on Burgapalooza but for those of you who missed it, Burgapalooza is two fun-filled days of burger, beer and downright good times. Originally set to be held at the Vic on Park, the event exploded after 10,000 people said they would attend, and has now been moved to Sydney Uni’s own Manning Bar. With delicious noms from the likes of Bar Luca, Pub Life Kitchen, Chef’s Kitchen, Barrio Cellar, and Milk Bar by Cafe Ish, you can indulge in burger heaven for a measly $7 entry fee. Once you’re inside, each burger (which has been specially created for the day), is only $10! How great is that?  Find out more


Sydney Comedy Festival

With acts travelling in from all over Australia and the world, Sydney will be transformed into a comedy Mecca and you’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t make the pilgrimage over to at least a few of the events going on.
