8:00am – Morning Coffee

Campos Coffee

We begin as all good stories do; in a small cafe on Missenden Road. Campos is famed for the smooth richness of its high-grade coffee, and a cuppa is guaranteed to supercharge your system for the full day ahead. Popularity means crowds, of course, but they’re pretty deceptive here. The slick baristas slice through orders like juiced-up lawnmowers, and they do it all with a carefree smile. Find out more

“Campos is the best coffee out there in my opinion. This little shop serves it the best. Good for before a long stroll down King St.” – Anna9003

9:30am – Brunch

Brewtown Newtown

Now that you’ve been sufficiently caffeinated, it’s time for something more solid. Something more substantial. Something like Chilli Fennel Pork Shoulder Hash to be precise, which you’ll find cooked to utter perfection at Brewtown Newtown. This tidy brunch hotspot is an inviting haven of clean, organic goodness, and merges beautifully with the surrounding retail boutiques. Find out more

“Brewtown is that unique combination of indulgent and healthy, with delicious salads and sandwiches alongside burgers and decadent desserts. My favourite dish there is the lamb and mint pea salad, which is quite satisfying and filling despite being a salad, and of course, there are the brewnuts.” – Dr Su

Lentil as Anything

When it comes to a mouth-watering lunch, you can’t go past Lentil as Anything. This not-for-profit eatery runs on honesty and generosity, with customers paying only what they feel is right. We reckon you’ll be feeling very honest and generous indeed once you sample the Pumpkin Tagine, so get to it! Find out more

“Great place and an even better initiative. The vibe here is just fantastic. The two times I’ve been the food has been fabulous, too. I’ve paid $20 each time by donation, absolutely worth every dollar, if I weren’t a student it would have been more! Can be very busy, in no way is this a negative though, only adds to the atmosphere. Go and check it out!” – Lucinda1992

6:00pm – Dinner

Pasha’s

Dinner time! Thinking Turkisy? It doesn’t get better than Pasha’s Turkish Restaurant. From the hanging rugs to the mounted sabres to the vases, lamps and occasional bouts of belly dancing, this restaurant is more Turkish than a sultan’s slippers. As for food, we have to suggest the Hunkar Begendi. It’s eggplanty, herby, buttery, lamby and quite indescribably yummy. Find out more

“Great ambiance, and the place is beautifully decorated. Food was really nice, I shared a couple of dishes with friends and they were all so good.” – happy_customer11

Kuleto

9:00pm – Drinks

Kuleto’s

It’s time to bury some cocktails! In Newtown, there are few better places to do this than Kuleto’s, where good drinks are life and life is good. The ‘Devil in Disguise’ is always a top choice; it’s a blend of fresh strawberries, strawberry and coffee liqueurs and coconut cream, and makes for a magical multitude of flavours. Find out more
