Hi Mark, thanks for taking the time to talk to us. What’s the story behind Mark Jackson Automotive?
I relocated from Sydney in 1989 when I realised the potential/need for a well-established mechanical business on the Gold Coast.
What do you love the most having a local business in the Gold Coast?
I really enjoy the casual laidback lifestyle and the friendly people.
What made you want to start your own small business?
I have always strived for perfection in anything I have done and realised I would be more successful if I had my own business instead of working for someone else.
That’s certainly proven true based off your fantastic reputation. How do you go above and beyond to create an awesome experience for your customers?
I am always available to talk with my customers. My staff are very friendly and polite, and also very well trained.
Do you have any advice for other small businesses that are starting up?
The first two years are the hardest, and as long as you stick to offering exceptional service with a fair price, you are likely to succeed.
How important do you think it is for a local business to have an online presence on websites like True Local where customers can share their experience?
True Local is a much better and personal way of advertising your business and your services. Also positive customer feedback is very important – that is how you realise as a business owner that you are doing the right thing.
