Bacon is widely regarded as the pinnacle of human achievement (seriously, it’s all been downhill ever since). There are some truly amazing bacon treats in Brisbane, and here are our top five.
There’s nothing like a classic done well, and they don’t come much more classic than a good old BLT. We’re particularly partial to the one found at Remy’s in Paddington, which mixes the usual bacon, lettuce and tomato with relish and a fiery jalapeño mayonnaise. It’s just the thing to jolt you awake in the morning.

When it comes to Brisbane brunch spots, it’s hard to beat Artie & Mai. From the brick walls to the whimsically tiled counter, it’s a thoroughly pleasant setting to have a meal, a coffee or even a cocktail. There’s something for everyone, and if you’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth, you have to try the Banana French Toast. It comes with tomato jam, salted caramel, and a generous scoop of candied bacon ice cream. Yes – candied bacon ice cream. It’s like a spoonful of heaven right here on earth…
“Even though off the busy Sandgate Road, this cafe is a quiet space to have a slow weekend breakfast. Especially with an all-day breakfast menu – it means you can wake up that little bit later! Do yourself a favour and taste the Banana French toast w/ salted caramel, tomato jam, candied bacon ice cream. It makes your day so much better!!!” – brisbanefoodnerds
We don’t know exactly who Delfina is, but she certainly runs a damn good bistro. We could go on forever about the food here, but what we’d really like to draw your attention to is the Maple Bacon Bourbon Smash cocktail. Yep, bacon comes in cocktail form now! What a time to be alive! This one features bourbon, Canadian maple syrup, smashed orange and bitters, and comes with a strip of crispy bacon. Gorgeous.

Red Hook seeks to bring all the rich and vibrant diversity of New York cuisine to Brisbane, and we couldn’t be more grateful. This ultra-cool bar/eatery does everything from giant burgers to mega-stuffed tacos. For a proper slice of bacon goodness, order the bacon & cheese fries. They’re so good it’s practically criminal, and you can even slather them in special bacon ketchup.

Nowhere named in honour of the Muppets can be bad! Statler and Waldorf is a lovely gastropub found on Caxton Street, with relaxed vibes, friendly service, and one hell of a tasty menu. It covers all sorts of stuff, including wood-fired pizzas, chicken schnitzel and pan-roasted barramundi. Best of all? You can add bacon to anything for just $3. And yes, that really does mean anything. Go nuts! Live your bacon dreams!
“Great relaxing atmosphere, good range of drinks with average pricing and a small simple menu but, what they offer they cook well! They also have a variety of board games for people to play and numerous options of seating – inside tables, bar tables, street front benches/tables and courtyard. Great option for a quiet Sunday drink with friends.” – WineTime
