Kettle & Tin

Paddington

Bright, friendly and surrounded by a nice picket fence, Kettle & Tin has won over many a Paddington heart. They claim to do the best Bloody Mary in Brisbane, and they certainly make a strong case. Four different types are on offer here, but our fave is definitely the ‘Rosa Maria’. It’s a South American twist with 666 Vodka, pickles, Pisco, Cab Sauvignon, Vermouth and rosemary. Delightful!

“Gorgeous little café to sip a cup of tea in and enjoy a light snack. Loved the atmosphere!” – localvibe

bris_johnmillshimselfJohn Mills Himself

Brisbane

We bring up John Mills Himself a lot, and there’s a fairly simple reason for that: it’s awesome. The staff are great, the vibes are chilled, and you’ll always leave thoroughly satisfied. You can also get a mean ‘Bloody Hot Mary’ in this grand old venue. That’s chilli vodka, tabasco, Worcestershire, tomato juice, lemon, salt, pepper and celery – and it’ll set your taste buds on fire in the best possible way. It comes in a virgin variety too, if you’re going sans alcohol.

“Went here for a cocktail. Great hidden bar. Liked that the whole menu was Australian spirits and the cocktails were really inspired. One guy behind the bar, but he was awesome and gave great service.” – Anna9003

Malt Pier

Newstead

From the riverside views to the stony décor to Gary Flynn’s masterful cooking, there’s all sorts of reasons to visit Malt Pier. The one we’re focusing on today, however, is the delectable ‘Bloody Mare’ cocktail. That’s Gin Mare, tomato juice, lemon, pepper, tabasco and Worcestershire sauce. Much like everything here, it’s just simple, classy perfection. We’ll take two.

“What a great little place just off the river front in Newstead. Got there at about 10 for a late breakfast and were really impressed by the service and the food and drink. Coffee was yum as were the corn fritters I had. Will definitely be going back again.” Tomuchtime

Speaking of which, the Bloody Mary here includes sriracha and citrus vodka, and packs a hell of a punch.
