Five Dreamy Hot Chocolates To Stave Off The Brisbane Chill

It might be horribly grey and miserable, but that really doesn’t matter anymore. Why? ‘Cos hot chocolate, that’s why. Time to explore the best that Brisbane has to offer. Follow us, dear friends!

Bitter Suite

New Farm

Bitter Suite is generally known as a warm and friendly foodie pub, but the fine beer and gourmet grub aren’t the only reasons to pay it a visit. We can think of no better way to begin our hot choccy odyssey than with Bitter Suite’s famous ‘Hot Choc Nutter’. That’s peanut butter, chocolate, whipped cream, crushed nuts, and a healthy dollop of Reece’s peanut topping. Oh yes.

“I absolutely love this place. The wait staff are so lovely, the food is delectable and their specials are insane!! Take 3 friends and go there on a Thursday night for their food menu, it won’t cost you a lot but you’ll walk away with a full belly and a massive grin on your face.” – Dayemm

Noosa Chocolate Factory

The name Noosa is synonymous with Brisbane chocolate, and that includes the warm, liquid variety. This artisan choc-haven offers loads of yumtastic options, from 100% cacao hot chocolate to rocky road hot chocolate. If you want our opinion (and we know you do), the Turkish delight one is where it’s at. House-made rosewater Turkish delight blended with cocoa and milk. Simply gorgeous.

“The best hot chocolate I’ve ever had in my life. The chocolates here are also incredible. Great for gifts for others… or yourself.” – rosie-e

Pourboy Espresso

From the spacious interior to the delightfully fancy lighting (sci-fi circles all the way), Pourboy Espresso is the café equivalent of a nice, successful partner you’d happily take home to meet your mother. Especially if you factor in the Belgian Callebaut hot chocolate, which is made with steamed milk and single-origin Venezuelan couverture chocolate. We smell a romance brewing.

Spring Hill

Let me see that tho-o-ong! Oh sorry, that’s Sisqó, not Sisco. Easy mistake to make. Anyway, this particular Sisco is not a late-90s R&B heartthrob, but rather a pleasant, two-storey brunch spot with a real sense of culinary flair. For a proper treat, go for a nice big mug of classic hot chocolate, served with all the fluffy marshmallows you can devour. You’ll be very glad you did.

West End

Choose something different. Choose the impossible. Choose… Wrapture. Naturally, this adorable, higgledy-piggledy little spot is famous for its selection of tasty wraps, but it’s no slouch in the hot chocolate department either. Your choices are rose hot chocolate, ginger hot chocolate, or (our personal fave) ‘Gypsy Spiced’ hot chocolate. It’ll put the fire right back in your belly.

“One of the best cafes in west end. Super friendly service and a delicious brew.” – PCBrisbane
