Your mum’s put up with all sorts of nonsense from you over the years, so it’s time to remind her just how much you appreciate it. Show her a good time at one of these awesome brekkie spots in Brisbane!
As one of the most raved-about cafes in West End, Plenty is a gorgeous choice for a Mother’s Day feast. The chefs use nothing but organic, locally-sourced produce in their delicacies, and the whole place is filled with friendly, relaxed vibes. For a proper brekkie, try the classic scrambled eggs. They’re utterly gorgeous, and almost as good as Mum herself makes!
“One of the things that I do when I first go to a cafe is try their scrambled eggs, this is how I compare the quality of the cafes with each other and Plenty is the front runner. I love their scrambled eggs, each and every time I order them they are just as perfect as the last time and I fall in love all over again. I have eaten here more times than any other cafe in Brisbane and I just can’t get enough.” – danihay
If you have two siblings, you probably heard the phrase “three monkeys” quite a lot from your mum while you were growing up. Therefore, what better place to take her for a gorgeous (and ironic) Mother’s Day breakfast? Three Monkeys is another West End favourite, known for its huge range of teas, coffees, and gluten-free, intolerance-sensitive foods. Get the baby spinach and ricotta frittata, and follow it up with a slice from their cake display. Mum will be in heaven.
“Always known for its quirky ambience and good cake selection, Three Monkey’s will always be a crowd favourite. Good to bring interstate and overseas friends to as it’s a good location to catch up with yummy cake and coffee!” – Eataholic
Is your mum “trying to be good”? It’s a phrase we’ve all heard before, and if it’s the case for you, why not take her down to Charlie’s Raw Squeeze? This vegan superfood haven has locations all over Brisbane, and they’re packed with a vast selection of refreshingly healthy breakfast treats. We’d suggest the Acai Bowl, with frozen strawberry, frozen banana and coconut water.
Have you swung by Charlie’s Raw Squeeze yet? Review it on True local!
A cute seating plan, speedy service, and tons of room both inside and out? Sounds like the perfect setting for a Mother’s Day feed! Little Loco is a renowned for its Mexican-tinged breakfast fare, as well as some of the finest coffee this side of Columbia. Once you’re there, you’ll definitely want to order up a couple of breakfast tacos. They’re amazingly good, and will pretty much guarantee you favourite child status.
“I had the smashed avo on toast which was delicious. I also had the Nutella milkshake which was so yum and looked amazing. Great vibes and atmosphere with cute seating. Quick service from the friendly staff, will definitely be going back soon.” – eloisecrouch
Lady Marmalade is a cute establishment with no end of lovely touches, such as toy animal table markers, an old-fashioned “milk bar” sign, and even the odd owl mug scattered about. It’s a brilliant Mother’s Day haunt, especially if you indulge in the special Spanish eggs. That’s two baked free-range eggs, house beans, toast sliders and fresh tomato ragu. Beautiful stuff for a beautiful mum.
“One of the best breakfasts in Brisbane, no doubt, I’ve tried them all. I’ve lived in Paddington, West End and New Farm and I am a caffeine addict. I recommend you go hungry, and in need of strong coffee. I’ve been a few times for the free Wi-Fi and baked egg combo, and I’ve always found the staff welcoming and the food exquisite. Check it out why don’tcha.” – Can Guru
