The Bowery

676 Ann St

A Fortitude Valley native, The Bowery has a sort of old school charm to it that makes it a big hit with Brisbane locals, looking to blow off steam once the work day is done. Taking its name from the New York street where dimly lit dive bars are a dime a dozen, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to the Big Apple as soon as you step inside.

If you and your colleagues are cocktail fans, this will be your go-to, as the folk at The Bowery take their drinks very seriously, plus it’s the perfect place to listen to live jazz bands and mash-up DJs.

Limes Hotel Rooftop Bar

142 Constance St

It wouldn’t be an after-work drinks list if there weren’t mention of a rooftop bar, where you can soak in the sunset and grab a cold beer with colleagues. And Limes Hotel is the perfect spot.

Sitting atop a funky boutique hotel, this bar packs a vibrant punch, with its cocktail jugs, frosé, popcorn chicken and baked Camembert treats! And if that’s not enough, depending on the night, the bar turns into a rooftop cinema, showing all your favourite flicks.

The Survey Co.

32 Burnett Lane

More restaurant than bar, this place is great if you and your colleagues feel like something more substantial than just bar food. The hip restaurant is tucked away down a little laneway, but don’t let the dimly lit street deter you.

Inside The Survey Co. – named after British surveyor and explorer James Charles Burnett – you’ll find an array of incredible food combos, but you can’t go past their to-die-for pork belly. They’ve also got a decent list of wines, beers, digestifs and cocktails, so you definitely won’t be thirsty!
