Nick has been in the videography and photography industry since the years of VHS. He’s watched technology evolve and shared so many personal memories with clients who have now become friends.
Nice to meet you Nick, can you tell us a little about your business story?
I started videography when I was only 16 years old, working with my uncle back when we were still using VHS. With 20 years in the industry, I’ve seen significant technology advancements and developed a good knowledge about the market. My business, Nick Photography & Videography, specialises in capturing weddings, engagement parties and christenings.
What made you start your own business?
I started seeing other people’s success and wanted to give it a go on my own. I love meeting new people on the job and it has helped me receive referrals through word-of-mouth.
Every job is a different experience and the appreciation from clients is the most rewarding aspect. Getting that special mention during the speeches makes you feel so appreciated and the overall experience becomes worthwhile.
What is your business most famous for?
The customers are always recommending my business for my good customer service. I’m willing to accommodate to client needs but ensuring high quality results are delivered. This really helps with my word-of-mouth exposure. Not only this but my relationships with clients become friendships.
Do you a favourite local business in Bankstown?
Oliver Brown is my go-to café. It’s the best place to meet-up with clients and friends, especially since I’d rather to travel out to see people.
What advice do you have for businesses just starting up?
Put your mind to what you want to do and don’t give up. If you think you want to do it, then do it – you don’t know where it can take you.
