Udder Delights

Udder Delights is possibly Adelaide’s friendliest and quaintest cheeseporium. It’s nestled away in Hahndorf, with the Adelaide Hills providing an idyllic backdrop to the cheesy wonders within. Try the Udder Delights Cheese Board for your choice of three or more delectable local offerings, alongside Willabrand saffron pear, roasted almonds, Baylies crackers and freshly baked ciabatta rolls. Mmmm.

“Really great place to sit and relax after having a walk up the quaint street of Hahndorf. Staff were wonderful, quite busy with the cheese tasting. Can highly recommend for lunch or a snack. Their cheeses and good selection of food stuff makes it hard to decide what to buy = dips, crackers, meats, cakes, etc.” – jenjax

The Howling Owl

East End

Famed for its extensive gin collection, this trendy cafe/cocktail bar also serves up a sensational range of yummy tasting boards. The cheese board for two is perfect for sharing with a fellow cheeseophile, offering such favourites as Adelaide Blue, Jacky White Camembert and Limestone Coast Aged Cheddar; and served with muscatels, fruit, quince paste, lavosh and toasted ciabatta.

“Loved the atmosphere and the staff were great. Good beer and wine selection but the fact that they only stock gin makes this place one of my favourites. The gin cocktails that I had were outstanding. We had some cheese and meat plates as well – a relatively expensive way to eat but great quality and all SA produce. Can see this being a regular haunt.” – 4chillis

The Pot Food & Wine

Hyde Park

Cheese and wine is a much-celebrated combo for good reason, and The Pot is definitely the place to find best of both. This cosy, mood-lit restaurant boasts several cheesy specialities, but our favourite will always be the meltingly gorgeous grilled scamorza, served with orange and kampot pepper marmalade.

“Love this restaurant, the dim lighting creates a nice ambience. The food is great – especially for share plates. My absolute favourite dish is the pulled lamb with gourmet macaroni cheese.” – Kat1985

Pickle in the Middle

No serious cheese article is complete without a toastie or two, and we’ve got a doozy for you here! The cheese and pickle toastie at Pickle in the Middle consists of smoked mozzarella and mustard zucchini pickles wrapped in parmesan-crusted focaccia, and you can even add Newbury & Watson free-range ham for an extra three bucks! Go on, you know you want to.

“What a beautiful little unique cafe. It is that “something” when it comes to you wanting that “something different” The staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was pretty delish!! Can’t be more in love with all the preserved pickles and jalapeños and other assorted goodies! Totally yum!” – TheMiddleIngredient

Cheesy Street

If it’s mobile cheese you’re after, look no further than Cheesy Street; beloved food truck and bona fide grilled cheese heaven. It specialises in hearty, American-style toasted sandwiches, with the heartiest of all being the mighty ‘Notorious P.I.G’.
