What’s Happening in Melbourne this March

Are you itching for things to do in Melbourne this month? We’ve got four awesome events right here – head down and check them out.

Full Moon Party

Date: 3 March

Location: The Bottom End, Melbourne

Ever wanted to get artfully slathered in UV paint and party your way across three separate rooms until the sun starts to rise? Looks like Full Moon Party is the one for you! Expect cheap drinks, top DJs belting out a variety of tunes (from Top 40 to Columbian vallenato), and a talented team of makeup artists ready to make sure you sparkle beneath the ultraviolent lights. It’s going to be wild, and it’s not to be missed if you’re at all into clubbing.

Donut Fest Melbourne

Date: 12 March

Location: The Village, Melbourne

Fresh from delighting both New York and Los Angeles with its bountiful treats, the Donut Fest is finally coming to our fair shores. Melbourne is the lucky city of choice, and it’s going to be glazing amazing! It’ll basically be like that episode of The Simpsons where Homer gets force-fed all the donuts in the world, except set in the lovely surrounds of The Village beer garden (as opposed to, well, hell). There’ll be vegan and gluten-free options, of course, as well as all the beer you can chug. Make sure you pay your respects at the mighty Donut Wall, too!

Melbourne Queer Film Festival

Date: 16 – 27 March

Location: ACMI, Melbourne

The Melbourne Queer Film Festival is one of Victoria’s biggest cinematic events, with over 130 films covering all aspects of the LGBTIQ world. The 27th edition kicks off with the critically acclaimed I Am Michael, starring Zachary Quinto and James Franco. From there, the international movie line-up runs the emotional gamut, with gut-wrenching drama, side-splitting comedy, tear-jerking romance, and everything you could possibly imagine in between. We guarantee something here will speak to you, so get down and enjoy.
