Adelaide Tomato Battle

Date: 27 February
Location: Adelaide Showground

Heads up! Prepare to get messy at the Adelaide Tomato Battle. Inspired by La Tomatina in Spain and Oktoberfest in Germany, the Tomato Battle combines a festival of delicious food, thirst-quenching beer and extraordinary entertainment with, well, a tomato battle. You’ll become part of a massive sauce bowl by flinging over 300,000 Roma Tomatoes at each other. Better yet, the event is completely environmentally responsible, using only overly ripe tomatoes not fit for human consumption, which are then scooped up and recycled into the ground for next year’s crops. Find out more
