“As far as decor, interior, exterior ambiance, service and class go? Well… that’s pretty much this place. You can take a lift up from the street front, or scale the large exterior concrete stairs. If you’ve enjoyed the lobby of Crown Casino in Melbourne, you’ll just love this bar. Dress up, pay up for perfect cocktails and pick a warm night so you can enjoy the seating area around the semi-elevated pool.” – out2often

Mundo Churrasco Restaurant

Bardon

Big, bold and bursting with life, the atmosphere at Mundo Churrasco couldn’t complement the food more perfectly. You’ve probably sampled your share of Aussie barbeque, but the Brazilian stuff is something else entirely. It’s quite possibly the meatiest cuisine ever to exist (although there are nice veggie options too), and designed to be shared, so you and your mates will savour every juicy, smokey bite together as you happily gorge the night away. Find out more

“The friendly staff come around with great big hunks of char-grilled salted & flavoured meats, and carve off bits for you on request. Its an all-you-can eat affair, perfect for large groups, though hubby & I have gone several times as a couple and still had a great night. The staff are very attentive and helpful, the restaurant decor is tasteful, and the food is amazing – definitely worth a visit!” – NigglesandKnots

Witches Chase Cheese Co

Tamborine Mountain

Cheese easily makes the list of humanity’s greatest achievements (we put it somewhere between Snuggies and life-sized Gummi Bears), and Witches Chase is famous for crafting some of the yummiest dairy snacks around. Grab your cheese-loving friends, head down to a group tasting session, and prepare yourself for some serious cheese (make sure you grab some of the Tamembert – it’s like Camembert but sooo much better). The neighbouring brewery and bistro are also well worth a visit with your mates, we might add! Find out more

“Always a good spot when doing a wander along Mount Tamborine for the day. The tastings are free and their signature Tamembare is lovely. My particular favourite is the Triple Cream Blue – pity their Triple Cream Brie is no longer available. Service can be a bit hit and miss, but their pre-packed platters are great if you want to grab a couple of bottles of wine from a local winery and do an impromptu picnic.” – Amanda Cassar
